Sorry, I don't have any later info. than 17?? re Gooby family, although there were quite a few in Trinity Bay. I have been told that the Old Perlican records were lost or destroyed for some years. You may be able to find census info on your family, given that they were later, through the Newfoundland Grand Banks site at: http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/Heritage/NGB/index.html There are several people looking for Gooby's so you might have better luck.
