There should be a John Heaslett, Billis, Glaslough,
Co. Monaghan (he was born circa 1810)
James Heazlett as above and later Deryvane, Glaslough,
Co. Monaghan (1837-1912)

I would be grateful if anyone has any information about either of these. James was my Great Grandfather and I do have all the information about the following generaions but do not know if he had any siblings nor do I know much about John. The spelling of our surname kept changing and in some cases one person has been entered on official documents under different spellings.

James Hazlett

Regarding your James Hazlett (spelling! - I know!) this information sounds like it fits your needs, you should also see the others posted by me this day.
George Hazlett(Scotland) married Nancy Mackee(Scotland), they migrated to Ireland settling in Castleblayney, County Monaghan. 5 children born to them - George (my gggrandpa)
Eliza, James, Mary and Thomas. in 1845, both Georges and Nancy took off for America, but father George died on the 6 week voyage. Nancy returned home to the other children. George(mine) stayed in the states, got rich in the gold rush, sent for his lady love from Ireland (Jane Whitaker) and settled down to propogate the state of Iowa.(Monona, Iowa and surrounding townships) James stayed in Ireland, and is possibly your ancestor. It's worth a shot to figure it out. If you'd like any more information that I might can offer, my email address is above. Good Luck. I can't get past Father George in Scotland, except that I think his dad's name might have been George, since this generation that I am in right now is the first one since the imigration that there has not been a red-headed Geroge. There are alot of us red-heads, but not one single george!!!

Having stumbled upon this site where you mention the marriage of Eleanor Garstin to John W. Huskisson, I thought I'd mention that during my own research into my family name, I discovered John W. Huskisson and Eleanor in the 1851 census. I obviously have the names of their children also, but since you state that your mother was a Huskisson, I wonder if you would be able to share the names of all of your known Huskissons from the 19th century, in order that I can eliminate them from my own research. You see, I'm compiling a tree of every Huskisson that I can find so that as my own family tree progresses I may be able to find links easier. I appreciate that you may not have much or any info, and that you may well not have the time anyway.
Best Regards,

Tim Huskisson

I'm so excited to find your information! George and Jane (Whitaker) Hazlett from Iowa are also ours! Please, please e-mail me any information you have on them and their families. We have from their daughter, Susan, down, but don't know if Susie had any siblings, or any dates or ANYTHING on Jane and George except their names. I'll be happy to share the info we have on Susie and her family (and we have a photo of her in her 50's.) A new cousin, wow!

Lentaigne property

How can I locate the land owned by John Lentaigne of Tallaght? The only townland name I know is 'Corlatt' Co. Monaghan (Burkes L. G.)
As Lentaigne only came to Ireland in 1798 I suspect he inherited the property through marriage to O'Neill (address, Caple St. Dublin) in 1799.
Can you provide any clues and further sources for me to search?
Magans also married L in the 2nd gen. which could have extened their holding.
