My ggg grandmother Margaret was Protestant. However because I don't know anything about her parents or siblings it is quite possible that your William could possibly be a sibling. I have a lead on her death certificate and I am hoping it will list her parents. I will let you know what I turn up and maybe we can make a connection.

Was your Margaret a Presbyterian? My ggggrandfather,
William H. STEWART, was born in Ireland in 1825. He married
Grace BRANYAN or BRANNION. I don't know a county for them.
They had children: John M., Sarah, Eliza Jane, Hugh, William, and Mary. William, Grace and John M. immigrated
to the US in 1848 and settled at Allegheny City, Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. I have not been able to find them on a ship's
list. I have not searched any from Canada.

Could William H. and Margaret have been brother and sister?

I am looking for any information regarding my ggg grandmother Margaret Stewart born about 1818 in County Monaghan Ireland. Margaret married Henry Williamson sometime before 1845 in Ireland. They immigrated to Canada in 1849 and settled in Bosanquet Township Ontario Canada. Margaret and Henry had six children-- Sarah Jane, Margaret, Henry, James, John and Mary Ann. Margaret died in 1884 at the age of 66. Any information about her family - parents and siblings- wold be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Richard Stewart married Mary Raeburn 1871 Simcoe or Grey County, my gr grandfathers sister......their mother was a McCormack from Ireland as well[Margaret].....I believe there is a connection there as well...have you found anything new? I believe the Raeburns are from county Monaghan and am looking into that...they came to Canada about 1841, Mary was born in Quebec.
