Is anyone familiar with the surname Wersal? My great grandfather Joseph Wersal, b. December 26, 1878 was born in Austria (supposedly). He married Estelle Adelaide (Attille) Sellner, b. December 24, 1879, (Germany?). They married January 16, 1901, Springfield, Brown County, Minnesota. My grandfather has siblings: George, John, Wenzel and Catherine.
Their parents are: Josef Wersal and Magalena (Lena) Raska, both born in either Austria or Germany?
Prior to 1900 at least all of the children of Josef and Magalena came to America, but I do not know if the parents came to America or not, nor do I know when or where the parents died.
A very old photo of my great grandmother Estelle Adelaide (Attille) Sellner Wersal hung in my grandparent's house for many long years, but mysteriously disappeared after my grandmother's
death. It showed my great grandmother as a young girl (maybe 15 or 16 years old) wearing an all
white starched uniform standing next to a very bright and shiny giant size silver coffee urn where she worked in a Vienna coffee house, sometime
around 1895 or so.
Thanks,
Donald
