Lyck became Polish in 1945 and all Germans/German speakers were expelled. There are nearly 12,000 Heins in dastelefonbuch.de, any of whom could have originated in East Prussia but were re-settled in either East or West Germany. However if you are sure he was a student at the University of Berlin (Wilhelm Humboldt-Universitaet), why not write there and make some enquiries. Hope this helps a bit.
