Hi we are Buchholz's too.
We are actually for any information on any Buchholz's.
We are looking for any information, of Christian Buchholz born April 1829.
He was married to a lady named Louisa. They came to USA in about 1865.
They had two sons with them William Buchholz, and Julius Buchholz.
We have an old German bible, and other items that are very very old.
We live in the generation home of Christian Buchholz, which is in Wisconsin.
Any information would be helpful and if we can help anyone we would be gald to do this.
Thanks
The Buchholz's

Tami,

Does anything in the old bible or other documents specifically list the town, or other specific place of origin for your Buchholz family? My GGgrandparents immigrated in 1886 to Wisconsin, Waupaca/Waushara Counties. Still searching for leads to their place of origin.

Hi Jon,
I am so sorry for not replying sooner, I had a gliche in my computer.
I do have documents but they are all written in the old german script. I can not read them.
I have just recently found a elderly lady who is willing to try and read these documents to me. So as soon as I find out anything I will let you know.
I have been searching alot, so a little at a time I am gathering information.
Thanks
Tami
One thing that I did find out was, when Christian Buchholz before leaving Prussia changed the spelling of his name from Buchholz, too Bucholtz.(I was told that it sounded too German) When he came to the USA he changed the spelling back To Buchholz. And when looking through the mircofliche and other items, I do find that the spellings changed due to the newspapers error.

Can you tell me any of the names that you are looking searching?
I have found several headstones, and lots of information in newspaper articles at the Clintonville Public Library.

Tammi , you said you live in the generation home of Christian Buchholz in Wisconsin, where in Wisconsin? I am searching in Clark and Marathon County. My grandfather, William Julius Berg's second wife was Wihelminia ( Minnie) Buchholz ( different spelling always) daughter of Wilhelm (1880 census says William ) Buchholz and Bertha Wollenberg 1908 in Colby, Clark county, Wisconsin.

Tami, I just found your posting re: Christian Buchholz. My gggf was Christian Frederick Buchholz b 10/29/1820 in Jagow, Pommern, Prussia. Married Johanne Luise Schatz 10/27/1844 in same town. They had 7 children that lived to adulthood. One was Christian Friedrick Wilhelm Buchholz b 5/10/1850. My ggf was Franz Herman Buchholz born 6 yr later. The family immigrated to US from Bremen in 1868. First lived near Madison, WI in Dane County, then moved to Monroe County WI (near Wilton, WI). I am still tracing where they lived in Dane County and their move to Monroe County. I have more if this is also your relative. Gary

I have a Friedrich Johann Buchholz\Buckholz\Buchholtz who married Sophie Mary Kahle in 1840 in Hamilton County, Ohio.
His parents were Johann Heinrich and Margaretha Korson\Kison Bucholtz from Woelpe, Hannover. Do you see a connection to your Buchholz? thanks
