Trying to find a place of origin for Adam RYNTZ born 5/2/1848 in Germany/Prussia and his wife Rosalia WROSH born 8/24/1855 in Germany/Prussia. Both died in Detroit, MI. My husband's grandfather says they were Kashubs, but still do not know exactly where they might be from. Adam was naturalized on 10/5/1896 in Detroit, MI in which he renounced all allegiance & fidelity to William # Emperor of Germany. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you found more information on kushubs? I am also of Kashubian decent and live in the Detroit area. I have done research if you like I may be able to answer some questions.

I have come a long way since originally posting this. Adam and his family were from Putzig, Germany (now Puck, Poland). His birth was recorded in the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Putzig. I did find quite a bit of information on the Internet about Kashubian people and culture. I haven't found his wife's (Wrosh/Wrosch/Wroz) birth place or where they were married and where their children were baptized though.
