I'm looking for information on Joseph Long b. about 1853 in Champneys, Trinity Bay. He was married to Mary Nurse (not certain on her Maiden name. One of their daughters was Violet May Long who was my Great Grandmother. I can find the family on the 1921 and 1911 census but I'm looking for info on who their parents were, etc.

This is what I have on Joseph Long:
Joseph Long of Salmon Cove, son of John Long m. Mary Ann Nurse of Green
Bay, daughter of William Nurse 1873-06-10, my records don't show the parish
but the married was performed by Benjamin Smith, who in this time frame
married many in St. Paul's Anglican Parish in Trinity. (unfortunately the
ages for Joseph and Mary Ann at the time of marriage were not given)

Joseph & Mary Ann children: from Port Rexton Parish Records
Sarah Ann b. 1877-06-17 Salmon Cove 'now Champneys'
Mary Elizabeth b. 1877-06-17 Salmon Cove
William Nurse bapt. 1888-09-09 Salmon Cove
Violet May bapt. 1892-02-02 Salmon Cove
Hope the above helps you to the next level.
Doreen

Hello,

Were you ever able to get the answers to your questions? I have a Long tree branch going back to Francis Long, b~1732 in Trinity Bay. It should be easy to match this up with your tree.

Let me know.

Regards,

Miles Hart
