Re: Nancy Troup
You might try posting this query on the Welland County Board as well. Before marrying Abraham High Jr. in 1842 at Fort Erie, Nancy Troup (1823-1856) lived in Bertie Township, Welland County, Ont. The Troups there are listed on various Ontario Census records as Menonist, Dunkard or Tunker, and are a totally different line than the Troups of Scottish descent who later settled in the Louth Township, Lincoln County area, where Nancy and her husband Abraham High lived. Also, on the 1851 Census for Louth Twp., Lincoln Co., there was a Lydia Troup (age 19)living in the same household as Nancy (age 30), and her husband. It's possible that Lydia and Nancy were sisters. There are other Troup queries appearing on the Welland Board. Perhaps someone in that area would recognize the names of those two girls from their family research. Might be worth a try.
