Hello everyone,

I'm looking for the burial locations of some of my wife's ancestors. They are, in particular, George SWAN (born 21 Oct 1846, Northumberland, England), his wife, Mary Ann ST. JOHN (born 19 Sep 1849, Brock Twp, Ontario Co., Ontario), and possibly one of their sons who passed away young, George Newton SWAN.

George and Mary's children came out west to Saskatchewan, but I believe he passed away in Stisted with his second wife, Ida. I am not sure when he passed away, but it would have been after the 1911 census was taken. Any help to find his death date and death location would be appreciated.

He was a Presbytarian, if that helps.

I am looking for information on William Snell and Elizabeth Major.

They appear on the 1881 census with their family in Stephenson, Ontario. I have quite a bit of details on their children and their descendents but am trying to make the connection back to England.

Elizabeth (Major) Snell was born Jan. 22, 1842 to Isaac and Sarah Major in Netherby, Dorset, England.

William Snell was born about 1826, unknown. Died Jan. 1882 in Stephenson.

My name is Lois Kirby Parry.
If you are a descendant of George Henderson, who married Alice Victoria Harrald,in Ontario Canada, I have a lot of family information for you + I may have a picture of George Henderson as a teenager. He was born 23 January 1875 in Dunns Berwickshire Scotland to Donald Henderson, shoemaker, and Ann Aitchison.
I have his birth record,from a year and a half ago; I just found his marriage record, and his death record this week. I also have his military record for WW 1 which I also found this week. All these items add up. I just discovered him about 1 1/2 years ago, when I was doing some family history for my Dad.
This particular George Henderson is either an Uncle or a brother to my Grandfather, John Henderson Kirby, who was born in Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland, in 1880 to alady named Violet Henderson.
I have a lot more information about the pedigree of the Hendersons and the Aitchisons.

Looking for the parents of this couple. According to the 1881 Canada census for Muskoka Co, Ontario, Catherine was born about 1833 in Ontario and was of french descent. She is listed with her children but not her husband Alexander McKay. Their children were Edouard, Alexander, John, James, William, Elizabeth (my great grandmother), Agnes, and David. At least 2 children were born in Penetanguishene, Simcoe Co, Ont and some of the children were married in Byng Inlet, Parry Sound Co, Ont. Most records for the children were found in parish records of Wikwemikong Mission on Manitoulin Island (there was a "travelling" Jesuit there), but I haven't been able to find the marriage of Catherine and Alexander. Any help greatly appreciated!!!

Good evening,

I will be visiting Bracebridge in a week or so, and had hoped to track down the gravesite of my g-g-grandparents, David (1829-1892) and Sarah (1834-?) Dickson. Both were born in Scotland and were likely Presbyterian, although Sarah was listed in the 1901 census as Baptist.

The Bracebridge library very kindly did a quick search for me in some of their volumes, but with no results on the gravesite.

I'm hoping someone with a bit more familiarity in the region might be able to point me in the right direction.

Searching for Louis Klingbeil and son, Louis Klingbeil's family. Louis Sr born 11 Jun 1842, m. Henrietta. They had children, Louis born 24 August 1875 is listed in 1901 census age 25. Louis, Jr had daughter Emma Anna Klingbeil. Emma Anna Klingbeil, birth about 1864. She married Rudolph August Goltz, Mar 11,1896 in Muskoka Dist. I believe Henrietta, Louis Sr, wife died June 4, 1931. Louis Jr died Jul 7, 1964. Louis Sr, had a brother named Julius Klingbeil. He and wife, Amelia, lived in Canada near Louis Sr in Muskoka Dist. from about 1885-1893-4 time period. Myrtle Klingbeil married Archie Barefoot. In the 1911 Census Muskoka [98] p2 ln 40-42 is a family in my tree, Alfred & Sarah [Stott] Garrod and their adult son John. The location is given as N Pt5 EMR. Does anyone know what that means and where that is?

I have a newsclipping which states David Nealon was buried in Gravenhurst October 1904 and indicates that his daughter Ada and son, Frank were at the Gravenhurst homestead.

My mother said she and her father visited relatives in the Georgian Bay area and lived for a time in Honey Harbour.
Would anyone have information on the Nealon family being in this area between 1904 and 1913?

Albert and Hattie had 2 children( up to 1905): James Frederich Pollock, born at Ensdale, Parry Sound Dst. on 15 Nov.1905 and also Albert Thomas Pollock, born on 30 Spt. 1903.

Hattie was widowed when she married Robert Spring,On Oct.4, 1920, at Niagara Falls, Ont. and she died on Feb.7/1925 , at Niagara Falls.

I have all the birth information for Hattie and Robert Spring, as well as the marriage/death information for Hatties 2 marriages.

Help tracking Duck families around Bracebridge

I would really appreciate some help to find the latest generation of Duck families and if they are still in the Muskoka area or if they have moved elsewhere.
Our relative, Elizabeth Mary Matthews, age 20, married William Porter Duck, age 23, in 1889 in Dufferin County and the 1901 census for Muskoka and Parry Sound shows the family with two children, Edward Duck age 10 and Sharlott Duck ages 8. That is the last record we have of the family.
We would like to know where the offsring of that family may be living now --any help would be welcome.

Robert McConnel b. 1869 to James (Scottish Presby. b abt 1830 in Quebec ) and Elizabeth (nee Morrison b. abt 1838 in Ontario) McConnel. Lived in Muskoka in 1881. Other children include Maryann, John, Jane, James, Benjamin, William, Charles & Joseph. He moved to Alpena, Michigan about 1887 and married Ella Cook there abt 1895. In 1900, he and Ella lived in to Long Rapids Twp., Alpena County, where I grew up. He later moved to Detroit, MI according to 1920 and 1930 censuses.

I would like to exchange information with anyone who knows about the Stafford or McQueen families. William McQueen took a homestead in Strong Township a few miles north of Sundridge in 1883. His daughter, Maggie, married Frank Stafford in Sundridge in 1887 and they farmed in Chapman Township west of Sundridge. The Staffords moved to Alberta as part of the Parry Sound Colonists in 1894. Some of the McQueens followed later. I already have the census information but would be interested in knowing anything else.

Grandfather Winfield probably born 1881 in Ontario and died 1944 in Dunseith.

His wife was Emma Knutson Fretland,1881-1917, died in Minneapolis MN.

Their daughter Violet Winfield, 1915-1989, was married to Gilbert Olson

Where are our cousins? Who were William's parents?
