Surnames: Lavin, Lavene, Lavine
I believe I am related to Abram Lavin.
1860 Census, Macomb County, Town of Shelby, post office Utica, MI
Abram Lavin, 62, Farmer, 0-100, Lower Canada - West, cannot read of write
Catherina, 45, Domestic, Lower Canada - West - cannot read or write
Henry, 14, London? - Canada West, School
Esther, 12, London? - Canada West
Margaret, 10, Chatham? - Canada West, School
Mary, 6, MI
Joseph, 4, MI
I believe the family later changed the spelling to Lavene. I have also seen Lavine.
I haven't really done much research in Canada so I am unfamiliar with place names and locations. I am unsure where this family came from in Canada but would love more info. if you might be able to connect us.
