The two earliest spellings I have seen in the mid 1800s are Jeanbarre (church marriage record) and JohmBore (census).
My ancestor Mary Ann Jambo (have also seen Jambeau) married David Rushlow in 1873 in Trenton, but I cannot pinpoint where Mary Ann came from in Canada.

I am trying to locate information about ancestors of my great-grandmother, Lois Smith who was born in Whitby Ontario Canada 4 Oct c1833, 1834, 1835. Her parents names were John Benjamin Smith and Jane Young. Lois had siblings named George, William, James, Cynthia, and Emaline (Emaline was born after the family migrated to the United States c1838-1839. The entire family, with the exception of Lois, died of cholera in the United States soon after their migration. John Benjamin Smith and Jane Young may have married in Whitby. I am primarily looking for the names of the parents of John Benjamin Smith and Jane Young, with my strongest leads being as follows: John Benjamin Smith's youngest brother was named Abram Smith, b c1808, d cl889-1991. He died in Whitby or Oshawa Ontario Canada. Abram was married twice and had 11 children by each wife, his second wife's name being Caroline Sowers, who b c1822, d cApril 1910. John Benjamin and Abram Smith had a first cousin by the name of Asa McGann (McGahon, McGahen) who married Sarah Ann Seelye (Seeley) in 1832. Sarah was b 27 Aug 1817 in Pickering Ontario and died 3 Mar 1887. Asa and Sarah's children were, Child McGann,
Rachel, b 23 Jan 1840, Thomas b 18 May 1842, and Wellington b 06 Dec 1845. If you can help me with any info on my ancestors, I would be greatful. The search for them has been going on for 3 or 4 family generations. Thanking you in advance for any help you can give, my name is LaVerne Brown and my E-mail address is: sina@cyberhighway.net.
I am looking for descendants of siblings of my grandfather Edward Wilson's family who emigrated to Canada in the 1910s. His brother Newman Joseph Wilson (married to Delma Teyon) lived at Fenwick Avenue, Toronto and his sister Miranda Ida Bird (nee Wilson) lived at St Clair Avenue, Toronto at the time of Edward's marriage to Nellie Birchenall (from Stockport, Cheshire, UK). My mother Annie Mary and uncle Robert Stanley were born in 1924 and 1921 respectively. Edward's family returned to the UK in 1936. Edward was a member of the Wellington Masonic Lodge in Toronto.

This is the information I wanted to know. I now know that my mother's side of the family is related to the Fobert name from Eastern Canada. Her mother's name was Annie Fobert who became Edwards after marrying Frances George Edwards. Then the Kidd name was her father's mother's name who was Susan Kidd. The name Kennedy was related to her Grandmother's name Kidd. So I would like to know if there are any descendants with that name. There is another name I would like to know.

There were other relatives and their names were Keagan, Savage, and there was a Doreen who lived in British Columbia somewhere I think. I am the daughter of Joyce (Edwards who married a Leo Doucette, then married my father John G. McDonald snd became Joyce McDonald.I want to know if anyone who recognizes these names could let me know I would like to know if you are around. I like to keep in touch and I know mom would also.

I am new at this, but would like to trace my mothers' tree back as far as possible. Her full (maiden) name was Jeanne Eve Guertin. She was born on Aug. 22nd, 1910 in Limoges, Ontario Canada. Her fathers name was Alexander Guertin and her mother's name was Lea Pomainville. Her mother (Lea) died giving birth to twins ( a boy and a girl). The boy died but the girl survived. My mothers sister was named Antoinette. She and my mother were placed in a convent and raised by the Gray Nuns (since their dad had to work). Antoinette was eventually adopted. My mother remained at the convent and met her husband to be (my dad) Ernest V. L'Heureux at a friends home (Rene and Ernestine Couvillion) in Ottawa, Ontario. They were married at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Montreal, Quebec. They moved to the USA and settled in Detroit, Michigan. Any information you can provide that may help me trace back will be greatly appreciated. I know my mother (Jeanne) had relatives in Cornwall and also possibly Alymer. Thanks.

Am researching Louis Remo, who called his wife, Biddy (Bridget?) and gold-mined in the area of Swastika, Ontario, according to his two letters mailed to his nephew in Oregon.
Louis was French/Canadian/Indian and his parents, Louis and Agnes Eusebe Remo, settled in Michigan's Delta County but Louis, Jr. spoke mainly French and preferred to live in Canada. Any information will be greatly appreciated. His brother, John, my grandfather, left Delta County and settled in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, in Oneida County. One of his sisters married Cyrille Chartrand, had 9 children, and when she was widowed at the age of 49, she left Manistique and homesteaded in Oregon's Snowqualmie Valley with her son, Edmond. Her maiden name was Corinne Remo and she has been listed in some links incorrectly as Corinne Ramon.

His grandmother on mothers side was Mrs Casey. His uncles on the Kelly side were Albert, James and Wm. His cousins on Kelly side were Bert, Jim, Danny and Pearl. Ernest Woods brothers were Fred and Frank. Ernest being the youngest of the Wood family.
Frank Woods wife told me years ago that they had two boys, Francis and Jack. She told me Gertrude Wood married a second time to she believed Charles Flanagan. They had three children. Claude, John and Eileen. Anyone with any information on these families I would appreciate hearing from. Mildred Wood lived in Fort Frances, Ontario. Harry Flanagan had also lived there. Thank you. Debbie (Wood) Tuck

Well here goes try again.

I am looking for the parents of Mary Jones born 8 Oct 1829 Belleville, Thurlow Township, Hastings County, Ontario who married William Geary. They later removed to Detroit and Marine City, MI and later to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in Mackinac county and further west in MI. There was quite a number living in Chatham, Ontario at one point. Will be glad to share information. Various other spellings, including Plonkey.
BettyK
Cornelius Wilson (born about 1835 in Scotland) and Mary Ann Lobb (my great, great grandparents) lived in Port Perry in the 1850s through to the 1880's. Cornelius was listed as a store clerk on the 1881 census but wasn't found on the 1891 census even though he still at least would have had a 14 year old child. They had 7 children - Sarah, William John (my great grandfather), Rebecca, Elizabeth, Minnie, Nettie and Neil. If you connect to this family and can give me any information, please contact me.
I am looking for any information on Pringle & Co. such as who was the owner of the company. According to the 1880 Beldon's Atlats they were Merchant Tailors of Scottish descent. I have a brickwall ancestor who is also a Scottish Pringle and I am hoping to make a connection. My ancestor is William E. Pringle born March 2, 1833. According to all of the census records he reports his place of birth as Scotland. I have no record of him until July 1863 when he married Sarah Jane Williamson in Port Huron Michigan USA. Sarah Jane's family were farmers in Bosanquet Twp., Lambton County. By 1871 the couple and their first four childrent were living in Sarnia Lambton County where William was a tailor with his own business. That is why I am hoping there might be some connection. I would appreciate any leads or information. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Peggy

I cannot find any information on my mother. She was injured in 1966 and I can only remember bits and pieces of her childhood stories. Her Father's name was supposed to be Michael. She had a sister Mary (who married a man Harry Burley and resided with their son ((Robert) and daughter in Niagra Falls, Canada), a brother John and brother Peter. She mentioned living in Sudbury Ontario. I have her social security card and Immigration Green Card w/registration number. She used to say she was Austrian and Ukranian, but was a citizen of Canada until an amnesty in the US granted her "legal" status. I have searched Canadian crossings, Mexican crossings (my father was Mexican and I can easily find his info), Austrian ship logs, census for both US and Canada. Her parents supposedly died when she was very young and was taken by a neighbor. She mentions the Prospect Hotel in Sudbury, but it appears to no longer exists.

Any assistance you can give in pointing me to the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Dogslife16@yahoo.com

Wonder if any one could help, I am looking for any information about my late Grandma's family. Her maiden name was Marion Lewis b1918, her mother, also Marion married Charles H Lewis born c1880. They lived in Bristol in the UK. Marion's parents were David Dunbar and Sarah Bruce; I have no idea on date or location of Birth. All I know is that her sister was Ida Bruce Dunbar, who married John Reid. Ida lived in Glenburnie (no idea of dob but was born in Sorel, Quebec). Ida died sept 11th 1961. The funeral was sept 13th I beleive buried at Internment Cataraqui Cemetery. Surviving her were my great grandma Marion Lewis living in Bristol, her daughter Erma Kemp (married to Arthur) and three grandchildren, Marilyn, Bonnies and Beverley Kemp. I cannot be certain but I believe one of the grandchildren to be born on 31 Aug 1945, as they shared the same bday as my father. Ida's brother Kenneth of Montreal, died before her.

If anyone has any information, however small I would love to know! I believe he went to Canada, married a French lady and has two sons who still live in Canada (don't know which part but Toronto and Ontario have been mentioned.) I've been told that one of them went back to Ireland a few years ago to discover his roots, but I don't think there's anything left, apart from an uncle in Tipperary.

My grandmother, Mary Ivory, was William's sister. There were two other siblings, Thomas and Patrick Ivory, but I don't know what became of them. My granny Ivory married Patrick Burke from Ballinavounia in 1923 and died in 1927 aged 25. My dad Patrick Burke and his siblings Tom and Cath were brought up by his Ivory grandparents (William and Mary nee Byrne)near Ballygarrett.

I would love to hear from anyone who may know what became of my great uncle William's family or his decendants.
