To;. Satch42179.
Thanks for your assistance again. The info you provided helped, some I already have. Census dates confusing though, because both the Gower and Bastard family younger children born in Canada not England. Very confusing. Am trying to find out when both families arrived in Canada and from what region of England they came. If you have that info. available it would be greatly appreciated. Believe they both arrived sometime between 1830-1835. Definitely before 1840. Thank you for all your help.

She was the daughter of John Bastard and Susanna Huffman. Anyone with info. on any of these people, please contact me. Thankyou.

DUDLEYs / COXes in Toronto Twp., (ca 1850 – 1910)

My Matilda DUDLEY (b about 29 Dec 1822 – d 26 Mar 1899, Cooksville) married William COX (b 12 Mar 1824, likely Somerset, England – d 8 Jan 1902, Cooksville) about 1851. I have had no luck locating either Matilda or William in the 1851 Census of Ontario. At this point I am interested in any DUDLEY in Ontario in the 19th Century and especially any information concerning a Matilda DUDLEY born “Anywhere” about 1822. Matilda is a “brick wall” for me. I have collected quite a bit of information on DUDLEYs in Ontario during the mid 19th century period and would be glad to share what I have. Unfortunately I have had no luck connecting up with my Matilda as yet.

William COX is also a dead end for me, however I do know that William had a brother John (b 1823) who was a grocer and miller in Hamilton and a sister Emma (b abt 1825) that married William Henry YAPP and lived in Brantford.

William and Matilda were living in Cookville (Toronto Twp., Peel Co) by as early as 1854. William COX was the baker there for many years. They had a family of at least eight children and daughters married BRUNSKILL, ROSS, STEWART and WOODS all in the Toronto Twp., area.

I have just read your post - I am currently researching my family history in England which includes Cox's right back from my mother. I have recently been reminded that many of my Cox ancestors emigrated to Canada but I've only just started this area of research so I have little information yet. However I now have my Cox relatives back to early 1800's - so if you wish to get in touch I'll see if I have anything which will help you, and maybe I can also get a lead or two. Thanks

Hello came across your post tonight. Do not know your connection to Harrison family in Peel County. I am researching for my friend whom I have discovered her grandfathers brother in Ireland married into this family.
Michael Harrison has an excellent site giving all the family history from the origins in Yorkshire. If you key into Harrison Peel County you should come across it.

Regards, Frances

Catherine:
We have an Edwin Darcel Perdue in our family. He lived with his first wife Bertha Caroline Perdue in Kamloops,BC and had 5 daughters. One daughter died and the mother died as well. He met and married Edna Johnson from Washington. She had a daughter from a previous marriage. They moved to Burnaby,BC and had four more children, 2 girls 2 boys. Edwin Darcel Perdue was hit by a car getting off a bus and killed in 1933 we believe. We have no information about Edwin's siblings or parents. Just the family story that Edwin's father or grandfather and their brothers were from Ireland. Sorry for the long post, this is the first info we have seen.
Thank you
Cheryl Perdue

Humber Station Rd. is in the town of Caledon. It runs parallel and west of Highway 50 and east of The Gore Rd. It does run near Clairville at the south end. There are communities called Humber and Humber Grove when you get north of Bolton.

It was near the village of Clairville in the Toronto Gore of Peel County. I believe it may have been in Etobicoke but near the boundry line.Tks Wayne Colton

Hi, I have some info on Fanny (not Frances) Alborough. She was born 6th September, 1845 in Willesden, Middx., Her parents were Elizabeth Freeman, born 1798 in Birmingham, Warwicks, my 3 x Gt. Grandmother, and Richard Alborough, born abt. 1802, East Carlton, Norfolk. Richard was her second husband, her first, Henry Doe, was my 3 x Gt. Grandfather but Richard is also related to me, he is my Gt. Gt. uncle.
Fanny was living with her parents and her daughter Lucy, born 1870, Hammersmith, in Harlesden, Middx. in 1871. I think Joseph may have already gone out to Canada by then. In 1881 she is living in Brampton, Peel, Toronto, Canada with Joseph, a labourer and their daughters. The eldest Lucy must have died as they have another daughter Lucy, born 2/9/1873 in Peel. Also Mary Ann, 4/10/1876, Annie 7/2/1878, Alice, 26/9/1879. Susan 27/6/1884 and Emma 26/12/1885. Joseph died 22/5/1893 in Peel and Fanny remarried to a Brigham Dennison, 16/11/1895 in Peel. He died 14/6/1901 and she died aged 92 in Peel, 16/1/1937. I don't have anymore on Joseph as yet, although I think he was born around 1842. Hope this helps,
Frances
