Looking for any information regarding Louisa Derby Seeley, who would have moved from Otsego County New York to Perth about 1860? Her 1871 obit mentions only her husband Alfred E Seeley, not any of her children by first husband, James E McMinn. Any info, where buried, would be most appreciated.

From Ancestry.ca

[there is a Perth County and a Perth town in Ontario].

Don't see any McMinns on 1861 census.

There is an A F Seeley b United States, c 1818 in Lanark, immigrated 1843.

Try the Lanark county Board.
Her obit is in their local newspaper online.

I had found Louisa's obit by a simple 'Google' search.
All this time I had been searching around the Otsego Co New York area. Still looking for a burial spot near Perth- if a followup newspaper notice exists, I have yet to find.
May have been visited in Perth by two of her three children, James Edgar McMinn and Lucy McMinn Peters, although may not appear on a census. I now believe Clarence L mustered out of New York and died in Andersonville Prison during the Civil War.

If only families had known how important obit information would be to us all someday.....

Thanks to all for your help.
