I hope the little info. I have helps. My great, great grandfather was Terence Mc Dermott. He married in Stratford,Ontario in 1850.The Mc Dermott,Herron, and Walsh families are all connected through Stratford,Ontario. They all moved to the US in about 1865-1870 and settled in Iowa.I'm trying to do family research also, but so far have found very little because records weren't being kept, except by Catholic Church in those days.Any info. you can pass along would be greatly appreciated.Contact me at "thewalrusclub@gmail.com"

I really appreciate the prompt reply, I wasn't expecting it that quick. The info. you sent IS very helpful. We will be able to trace another branch of the family with it.My sister is doing our mothers side of the family and I'm doing our fathers. It seems that the Mc Dermott's,The Herron's, and the Walsh's are pretty closely relatated after everybody meeting in Stratford,Ontario.ARE YOU a professional researcher? The reason I'm wondering is we are also trying to trace my great grandmothers family. She was Antoinette Pauline Brodak, and was born in Breslau, Germany(now Wroclaw,Poland) Feb. 18,1874.Her parents were John Brodak + Ottilie or Ottilia Schneider or Schindler. Ottilie was born in Breslau,Germany in Nov. 1850.Through her our family goes back to France just after the revolution. That is the part of the "family tree" that is still missing. ANY suggestions there? Thanks Again Pat Mc Dermott
