Hi Jennifer
Nice to hear from you. I live with your Mom's nephew, Carson Reasbeck, on Frog Hollow Road, Green Valley. His father was your Mom's brother, Glen, his mother is Shirley.
The person you refer to that has done a lot of research, is Jason Reasbeck, son of Brent Reasbeck, Carson's brother.
I have been interested in genealogy research for over 10 years, mostly concentrating on my own family.
When we moved to here, I decided to dabble on the Reasbeck because they are all mostly here!
Jason and I have spent a couple of days here and there, photographing headstones as well, to get even more information.
Carson and I have also been in touch with Reasbecks in England who are directly related.
I would be more than happy to share whatever information I have and I am sure that Jason would also.
You can contact me at carsoneb@sympatico.ca, or look us up in the phonebook, we are listed.
Again, nice to hear from you.
Wendy

This is my first time visiting this site. I thought I'd reply to this thread because my mother was a Reasbeck and I recently have become interested in learning more about my family history. My mom is Connie daughter of Jack and Lilly Reasbeck who lived on the family farm on Happy Hollow Road just outside of Vankleek Hill Ontario. She had 4 older brothers, the youngest of whom Vic now owns the family farm. My mom lives about a 20 minute drive from there on Gibbs Road near Glen Sandfield Ontario. She married my father Timothy Gibbs and they own the family farm there. I am their oldest daughter Jennifer.
A couple of people mentioned a brickyard. I know they had one on their farm. My mom has one of the molds used to make the bricks.
My parents have quite a lot of information on the Reasbeck family and the son of one of my cousins has been doing quite a lot of research.
I'm sure I'm related to some of the people on this thread - there's not a lot of Reasbecks around. I'll have to try to remember to check this thread again.
my email in case anyone wants any more info: jgibbsart@hotmail.com

This is indeed the same family.

The three eldest children listed (Victoria, Joseph, Alma) are from the first marriage with Exilda St-Louis.

Victoria was born and bapt. 6 Sep 1885 at Ste-Agathe, Terrebonne
I also have:
Marie
b. 1 May 1884, bapt 3 May 1884 @ Ste-Agathe
Cordelia
b./bp. 14 April 1888 @ St-Jovite, Terrebonne.

Haven't located the other baptisms yet, but they were likely in Terrebonne as well. The younger children from the second marriage to Rose/Rosianna/Roseanna were no doubt baptised in Prescott Co.

This is tough isn't it? I did stay with a wonderful family in Quebec that are related to Amedee Constantineau and they have a lot of information. Jeslaine thinks I must be related because all the Constantineaus in Canada are related according to her and of which I hope is true. She has moved and I don't have her new address, which I would love to have. I haven't received any other info of late but am still trying to find some.

I don't know much on that end, other than to map out your ancestry. Since it's a first cousin, your genealogy should be the same from your common grandparents on back. You might contact the tribe he lead - they may have documentation relating to your aboriginal lineage that your cousin would have provided.

From what I'm finding in the records, Euclide Blanchard married Laura Villeneuve in VanKleek Hill on 10 Jun 1889.

Joseph Arthur David was born on Oct 17 1889, and baptized on Oct 27th
Albert Joseph Antoine was born on Dec 24 1890, and baptized on Dec 28th

Arthur's death/burial is also recorded at VanKleek, though it states he lived in Montreal. He died Jul 3 1935, and was buried Jul 5 1935. His widow was named Jane Clark.

Arthur and Jane were married at Très-St-Rédempteur in Montréal on 19 Oct 1925, and the marriage act notes it was a marriage of mixed religions. The act also indicates that Euclide was already deceased, as was Jane's father William (her mother is noted as Elizabeth Bathes).

Euclide died at VanKleek on 22 April 1909 and was buried there on the 24th. I haven't found Laura's death yet.

Albert (Antoine) married Corrine Roy at St-Alphonse in Hawkesbury on 19 Aug 1919. I haven't identified any children for this couple.

Euclide was the son of Exupère Blanchard & Marguerite Gagné (or Gagnier)
Laura was the daughter of Antoine Villeneuve & Marie-Louise Séguin.

If there's anything I can check for you, just let me know!
Tiffany

ARTHUR BLANCHARD (B. abt. late 1800's early 1900's) married _____ VILLENEUVE and had 2 sons Arthur and Albert in Vanleek Hill. Arthur married an English war bride and moved to Montreal and had 2 sons. He died suddenly, leaving his widow to raise the 2 boys. She died suddenly soon after, leaving the children orphans. They lost touch with their BLANCHARD side of the family and we are trying to reconnect. If you have any information, please let me know. My Blanchard children would like to know their roots.
Thank you,
Maureen

Hi Garry:

Thanks very much for your response. How wonderful to make contact with another descendant of the Lacelle family line.

I am not sure how much information you do hold on the Francois & Marie Lacelle line. In my notes, I have the death date for Francois Lacelle as being March 14, 1882 in Hawkesbury, Prescott County, Ontario. His wife, Marie (Mary) died October 11, 1890, also at Hawkesbury.

By any chance, would you have a photograph of Francois & Marie/Mary Lacelle or any of their children?? I cannot seem to locate any.

My partner descends from Francois Lacelle's 4th daughter, Mathilde Lacelle, who later married Pierre Desormeaux. It has been quite a chore attempting to unravel this particular line as the families became scattered throughout the area.

Would be interested in further correspondence with you. As well, if you can provide any further details on the Lacelle line, this would be greatly appreciated.

If you wish to contact me directly, please advise so that I can send you my email address.

Looking forward to hearing back from you at your convenience.

Regards,
Kevin.

Anna
The family documented in Quebec is usually spelled without the L - Beaune (at least in the earliest years; i do see it appeared in later years). Also, the family, to my knowledge, is only documented only as far back as the parents of the immigrant. Families didn't move around as much in those days, so it's unlikely that they lived near Paris around 1603 and moved to Auvergne after. Not impossible, just unlikely.

It's quite likely that "Beaulne" is a place name that has nothing to do with the same surname. My family was originally "Fougere" - meaning fern - but as yet has no documented link to any of the places called Fougere/s.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and words,
Tiffany

Regards Tiffany
My deepest sympathy for the loss of your sister, that "C" word has gotten quite a few of my best friends and I know your loss. Just remember that she is saftely in Gods arms now and all her pain and suffering is gone, and Remember, no one will "ever" take the beautiful memories that you have of her away.
Thank-you again so much for the info , it's amazing that the name has been changed to many different spellings. How did we end get the L was it their originally or was it changed later?
And the "vendresse Beaulne" am I right that it is where we came from in 1603.
Respectfully Anna C.

Anna - Sorry! My apologies for not getting back to you sooner. My older sister lost her 4 year battle with cancer on Saturday, so I'm a bit scattered :/

I'm not related to the Beaulne line, just practicing my Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness :)

Next generation - Honore & Eleonore

Role Name First name Deceased
Groom BEAULNE Honoré
Father Beaulne Gabriel
Mother Proulx Élisabeth

Bride LOGUER Éléonore
Father Loguer Antoine
Mother Lacasse Narcisse

Parish Location County Province Country
Cathédrale Ottawa Carleton Ontario Canada
Date
1862-09-00

Loguer isn't a name I've seen before, and isn't on my list of "dit" names for Lemay ...
I'm sitting patiently waiting for your reply, You can not imagine what this means to me besides the fact i'm totally illiterate on here I never have a clue as to what i'm doing and any info I get is usually given to me by someone else. Are you related to the Beaulne family in any way or are you just a kind hearted person naturally. thank -you again for all your help.
Respectfully Anna C.
There is the idea in our family that Henri is related to us through Seraphin Bertrand 1807- 1899. They may have been brothers, an uncle, cousins, I don't know. Seraphin raised a family with Eulalie Constantineau in Prescott, Ontario, Canada. I would love any and all information you have. Henri was a legend in France and I so want to find connections to my family.

Anne
I've been working in Canada remotely (online) for more than a decade :) There's three major sources for French-Canadian records:

BMS2000.org - this site takes all of the repertoires published in the 60s and 70s and turns them into 'certificates' - like what I sent you.

PRDH - this is the database compiled by the Univ of Montreal which connects families via birth/marriage/death acts from the founding of Nouvelle France, until 1799 (1850 for some death records)

Drouin Collection - available indexed on Ancestry.com (though it was done by English speakers/readers, so sometimes it requires creatively tweaking your search parameters) and un-indexed on familysearch.org. These are the photo reproductions of parish registers throughout QC and ON. Inn most cases, they cover from the founding of the parish, until the 40s. There are actually two sets for each parish, and Ancestry.com has one set, familysearch.org has the other. Oddly enough, they are slightly different, so if something is illegible in one, it may be readable in the other.

Give me a bit and I'll send you the rest of your Beaulne line :)
Tiffany

How the heck did you know and find the info when you are in Colorado? I am very impressed with your quick response. What I want, is to get us back to Vendresse Beaulne which is where we came from originally in 1603. Did you know the name means "Hard Working Woman".
Vendresse is a little Village above and to the left of Paris France, not to be confused with the city called Beaune, without the L, which is below Paris.
Thank-You for the information, and hopefully we will hear from you again as to how you know my stuff.
Respectfully
Anna C.
