I was absolutely thrilled to receive your response to my query and I thank you so very very much.I have been tracing the family lineage (all branches) for several years now. Although all the sources that I had seen indicated that Emma's parents were indeed Adam Book and Dorothy Shaw, I was unable to find the verification needed. Emma's marriage to George Drummond, where she was registered as " Amy Shaw" ,left me suspicious as to her true biological father. I felt that she may indeed be illegitimate but needed the proof to back up my theory. You, however, have provided me with thatliving proof--next thing short of a miracle I feel.Searching for Adam Book's will was my next step and if that failed, I felt that my search would have come to an end and I would never receive the answers I so desperately wanted. I hope that you too are interested in genealogy and are tracing the family roots as well. Rhoda Havens Babcock is my husband's great grandmother and so John Ashworth Havens is his great uncle. We therefore share the same great great grandparents, Martha Drummond and John Havens and the same great great great grandparents Emma"Shaw" Book and George Drummond, etc. That would make us 3rd cousins, I believe. Some sources have indicated that Emma was born Aug. 1, 1826 in Brantford but I have her as being born in Ancaster. Do you have any knowledge on this? Was there ever any birth record in existance on her?I have gathered a fair amount of info on the Havens, Drummond, Shaw and Culver sides and if you are at all interested , I am definitely willing to share my info with you. Is your 93 year old granmother still alive? If so in what I have gathered to date on the family, then you are possibly the granchild of Helen Havens. Otherwise, you would belong to the Beatrice or Gladys Havens lines. I have limited information on the descendants of John Havens and Lillian Ashford except for the names of their children and a few of their spouses. Birth, marriage and death information for these are missing. If you are able and willing to help me with any of these in any way I would be most appreciative. I hope that you will once again reply to this message but I would like you to email me directly to my email address . If you go to my initial posting of Nov. 23, 2006, and click on my name under "author" then my email address will appear. You can email me direct using this address so that we can possibly discuss the family in further detail. Thanking you once again in advance.

Marlene
