Hello,

On Ancestry I found that on 6th November 1858 William Warne (Blandford Twp)married Jane Lee (Hamilton Twp), but as it is an Index, the parents names aren't shown.
I'd be grateful if anyone has the parents' names, particularly for William, so that I know I am "following" the right one (or not, which is just as helpful!)

Jane Warne, 77yrs8mos, died 8 Dec 1915, b Enniskilline Ireland, widow, d/o Thomas Lee & Mary Britton, died of bronchitis/1 wk and arteriosclerosis/several years, Brantford, Brant County, Registration # 007993.

Death:
William Warne, 49 yrs, b England, farmer, died 22 June 1882, of rupture of bowels, informant: Mrs Warne, widow. Oakland Brant County, # 001203.

It appears that place of birth for Jane was wrong so maybe William's birth place was wrong as well.

I don't see them on 1861 census but I think part of this census is missing.

They are in Brantford City on 1891 census.
On 1901 census Jane's immigration date is given as 1855, b Ireland.

On marriages of William F b 1868, [married twice], Charles Warne b 1875, parents are given as William Warne and Jane Lee.
Rest of the marriages give William & Jane Warne as parents.
I cannot find out immigration date of William as he was dead by 1901 census which is usually where immigration date is given.


1861 census has a Thomas and Mary Lee both b Ireland, birth years both 1794 in York County.

There is a Thomas Lee, b 1841 Ireland, immigrated 1855 on 1901 census in Orford Elgin West.

Thank you very much for the information you posted. This is the couple I'm looking at, and I think it is them with surname as Warren (one of several variations I've come across) in Dereham in 1861 with William's sister Maria. Just to confuse the issue Maria married a Warne! I think other siblings also emigrated to Canada around the same time, so I'm trying to firm up which Warne/Warrens are "mine" and which aren't.
