Does anyone know the location of the toll house in East Flamboro. In the 1861 Census? lists Rebecca Hamilton, widow and family as living in the toll house.

Thank you for the excellent lead. On a beautiful fall day we went to the Toll House on Snake Road, in Burlington, Ontario. The small wood house is set in a quiet sheltered valley with the Grindstone Creek running just steps from the doorstep. Oak trees line the hillsides. The current owner was outside working and we were able to speak to him about the house which is surrounded by the Hamilton Royal Botanical Gardens. That was very rewarding research!
