I am researching the Urie family who arrived in Wentworth county area in the 1830's. I am a decendent. Some of the family left Ontario to get land in Manitoba (they were farmers) and some stayed behind in Ontario. The last of the family in Ontario (that I know of) died in the 1970's. I am looking for land or housing owned by the Uries in Ontario. There are many Uries buried in the Carluke white, and Carluke red brick cemeteries. I have early census info to 1910. Has anyone in that area ever heard of the Urie family? I live in Baltimore MD and would like a few positive hints to search before I arrive in the area.
