Hi Eric, Wow, that article is very impressive (thanks for sharing it with me), thats the first I've heard of DJ Johnson being the nephew to the President Johnson (interesting)
Do you know where he's from? Anything about him? I've looked for him but I haven't had to much luck, I did find in a book years back a marriage date of Mr DJ Johnson to AH Thomas or HA Thomas (cant remember which way) I wrote it down but will have to look it up in my papers to refind the date and thats all I've been able to find on him,
I've also wondered when Artemissa remarried to Daniel Decatur Stout, the Johnson kids were young, was he good to them? Did they live with him the whole time growing up or did they live with other people (Johnson Family)? If they did that may be a clue to who his family was and can trace them back that way?
Also, do you know what unit DJ was with? Buried at? I know I have a lot of questions about him, I know I need to locate that marriage date and that will give me kind of a time line of him being here and maybe family lived close by and also land records might tell me something but I sure appreciate the help cause I've always wondered about him and the kids
