My grandmother was Ruth Riner Gilbert. My Mother was her daughter, Katie Earlene, who married William Henry (Bill) Pennington. Mother's sister, Elsie, married Robert Lee (R.L.) Pennington, who was my Father's (Bill's) brother. Mother and Elsie had a brother E. C. Gilbert, Jr, who married Daddy and R.L.'s sister, Bobbie Ann. Mother, Elsie, R. L. and E. C. have all died. Daddy and Bobbie are still living.
We had a Gilbert Riner reunion last spring in Tuscumbia. I understand that there will be another reunion next spring.
