I am searching for info on Ima Whitman Franks. Her father was George Whitman and they were from La/Al area. She is a distant relative and had a wealth of info on the Whitman family. She visited our family many years ago and talked with a cousin of mine. Needless to say, the info she gave him has been lost since his death. Have tried to locate her but it has been to no avail. I assume she has passed due to age. My family of Whitmans settled in South Carolina, some from Alabama and they all at one time came from Nova Scotia.I would love any info you might have and can also give you the same if you need it.My great,great grandfther, George Cephas Whitman had brother's that remained in Alabama. Would you happen to have heard of a plantation in Al or La that was owned by the Whitmans and if so, do you know the location? Thank you for any consideration on this matter of interest.
