Hi all,

I have made some connections to the Coughlan's in this area. My g-g-grandfather was Michael Coughlan, his wife, Theresa Carroll - she died in 1877. Michael died in 1901. They had 10 children; Pat, Mary Emma, Elizia, James, Thomas & George (twins), Kate, Margaret, Edward (or Edmond) and William.

My g-grandmother was Mary Emma Coughlan, she married a Michael O'Brien and lived and died in Redlands, CA.

I am not sure if any other Coughlans came to America with Michael & Theresa (and Pat - who was born in Ireland) - but it is at least possible that Dennis was a brother - or other family member.

The reason for this lengthy note is that a researcher in the area just sent me 5 photos of Coughlan graves in Nevada City, CA:
