I'm looking for information on Annie Benson, the granddaughter of John A. Benson who founded Benson's Ferry. Annie was born May 10 1875 in the Benson's Ferry area. Her father was John M. Benson and her mother was either Martha Ann Tock or Adelaide Bovard. The family eventually moved to Amador co. then Nevada and back to Amador. Annie married a Harvey Hale in the early 1900s and they had six children. Annie died in Lodi in 1954 (this is from the Cal. Death Index). I'm trying to find a birth announcement or obituary or something to help figure out who her mother was. I think it was Martha Tock, but in all the census records Annie makes reference to Adelaide as her mother. Martha Tock died in 1874/75 and John M. remarried Adelaide Bovard in (I think, but I'm really not sure) 1878. Thank you to anyone who might be able to help clear this up!
