Found the following mention of Nicholas Bibby in a book published by Charles Sawyer. It gives the approximate location of his blacksmith shop.

( Nicholas Bibby had a blacksmith shop out on the plains that he called Center Point. It was a mile north of the Los Banos school house. Bibby got elected Supervisor and just naturally quit blacksmithing.)
