BIO: Arthur Launcelot Collins Jr. (born 19 July 1896) was the son of Arthur Launcelot Collins and Margaret Morton Griswold Becker and the grandson of Judge Clayton Allison Becker and Margaret Morton Morris Becker of Denver (Denver Co.) Colorado.
Arthur Collins Sr. was an English mining engineer and manager of the Smuggler Union Mine in Telluride when he was assassinated in 1902 during a union dispute. Little Arthur was only six when his father was killed and grew up surrounded by his Becker aunts and uncles in Denver.
An absolutely charming circa 1900 photo of Arthur L. Collins Jr. appears in the May-June 1994 issue of "Everton's Genealogical Helper" magazine, p. 244, submitted by a Pueblo, CO relative.
Perhaps this snippet of information will serendipitously provide "just the right clue" for a Colorado researcher.
