I'm looking for Cosgroves from the Corning, PA area. Do you suppose there's a connection? My Michael Griffin Cosgrove was born on the high seas on the way here from Ireland. They arrived in Boston and finally got to PA. Anything sound familiar?

My line of Cosgroves started in Wilmington, Delaware. Eugene Cosgrove was born in 1866 to Michael Cosgrove and Rose Nugent. They were from Ireland. The family moved to Philadelphia before the turn of the century and finally settled in West Chester township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. A lot of the family is still in the West Chester Township area. That is all that I know at this point.

My Michael Cosgrove married Susan Edwards (of Jasper Edwards fame) and they all ended up in the Corning area? But this doesn't mean there isn't a connection somewhere.

My great aunt Mary (Powers) married a Thomas Cosgrove. I believe Mary grew up in Phoenixville but her mother Catherine Coughlin was born in West Chester. Mary was born 12/20/1893. I know she had at least two daughters, Francis Hines and Elizabeth Miller. Mary died in 1973.
