On Stephen Sands discharge papers from Revolutionary War it states he was born in Ct near New YORK.Born abt 1761.
I have no idea where to start looking for a birth record
or how to find who his parents were.He was with the Queen Rangers.After his discharge he moved to New Brunswick,Canada.Died in 1830.

Does anyone have any idea where I would start to research?Would appreciate any help and iseas.
