I'm looking for information on James M Stevens born 1824 Wilson Co TN.He married Sarah Ann Rebecca Coppage apr 4 1858 in Franklin Co. In the 1860 Franklin County Cave township census,James is 36 married to Sarah 26 with one son joseph 1.Her parents John and Martha Coppage live next household.On august 25 1862 he musters into company b 89th IL Inf. On september 19,1863 he was killed at the battle of Chickamauga.By now Sarah is left at home with 2 sons.Her parents John and Martha Coppage have since died and she is alone.James is buried in a mass grave in Georgia.She is listed on the 1870 Franklin co Cave township census 36 yrs old with sons joseph 11,George 8 and a Sarah Legg 2 born TN.
She dies two years later january 5 1872 at age 38.The farm is sold and the boys go to live with different families.
Can anyone help me find out where the farm was or where she is buried?Who is Sarah Legg?Was James married before?Any help would be greatly appreciated.
