I have just finished typing a 73 page memoir of my GGGrandfather, William
SUTTON. William was born in Galena,
Jo Daviess Co., Illinois in 1844 to George and Mary (
WHITAKER)
SUTTON. His first wife, Sarah Josephine
FLOTT, passed away in 1911. He remarried Elsie
PEPOON and in 1929, just prior to his death, dictated his "Recollections of a Busy Life." William fought in the Civil War with the 3rd
Missouri Cavalry, and later moved to
Nebraska, settling in the Southeast corner, eventually making Table Rock,
Pawnee County,
Nebraska, his home. His story is full of names and adventures, although you'll have to guess a lot on some of the dates. I would be happy to forward a copy of this to anyone interested in William
SUTTON of this line. I have traced his ancestory no further than his mother and father, and would be most appreciative of anyone who knows more.
