Hi all,
I continue to add to my database and believe I probably have the most Massac County families represented in an online database. I have added another 500 or so names and will update my database online in the next week or so. Let me know if you have a connection, corrections, additions, etc.

Hi, I got an automatic email regarding your message. How do I access your Massac county database. Don't get to this site too often because I don't have internet access at home. But would like to to some research on my family (Walker & Tanner).
thanks

I saw your query this morning on my email. I noticed that
you are doing research on Walker. My maiden name is Walker, and I was wondering if you and I may have a connection. Would you mind telling me the first names of
your relatives you are doing research on?
My father was born in Metropolis, so my research has been
in that area.
Hope we can help each other.

Thanks, Donna Ort

Im looking for the Mathis family and I see you list a Wiley Mathis. Im looking for information, especially obituaries for
Sylvester F Mathis b 1852, d 4 Sep 1936 in Grand Chain, Massac, Illinois, United States ; his wife:
Amanda Minter Mathis b abt 1853, last found in 1880 in Hillerman...
Children: William, Wesley and Allie (Alice)

Wesley, b 1873,in Massac, d 1962 in Cairo IL, as did his wife Ida Frances Mathis. Sons, Ray and Paul were born in Cairo.

Did Sylvesters dad Masten C Mathis come to IL with his wife and SF and the 2 younger children? He is not listed with his wife in 1870. Where can I find a cemetery listing?

His (Sylvesters) siblings were: Martha Mathis, Andrew M Mathis, Joel H Mathis, Nicy M A Mathis, Hiram J Mathis, Jno P Mathis, and Amanda Mathis.

Thank you
