I am looking for anyone who may have information on Maryville Academy in DesPlains IL. My father lived there from around 1928-1940. I would like info about the Academy and would love to correspond with anyone who may have lived there around that time frame.

My grandfather also lived at St. Mary's and I am trying to find information on his family. Last name Edgeworth. I have relatives that went to school at Maryville. How can I help you?

Thanks for responding. I am trying to just find out more about where my father grew up. I had hoped to come up with some old year books or find someone who was at St. Mary's when my father was there. Stories that they maybe able to share maybe similar to what my father would share if he were still alive. Thanks again
Sandy

This is what I know, St. Mary's(Maryville) was an orphan home/school. Alot of children were placed there because parents passed away or could not afford to keep them. My grandfather was placed there. He also was a teacher. My mother and her family went to school there. I will ask her about the place. You could also contact Maryville directly, some of the older preists could help you. It sounds like your father was there about the same time as my grandfather. He was active with Maryville until his passing in 1995. I'll keep in touch. If you should here anything about Edgeworth I am looking too. Thanks

My husband's father and his siblings grew up at this orphanage; they were put there about 1942-3.

Their names are: Gildo Paul Sciarretta, Alphonse Sciarretta and John Sciarretta.

If you find anything in your searches there about them, please let me know.

I am searching for information on my grandmother Ellen Burke and her brother Thomas. I believe that their mother (Margaret Hogan) left them at Maryville for a time probably 1915 - 1920. If anyone can direct me or has any information or advice, I would appreciate it.

Uncle Larry???

I've been searching for you on and off for several years now. I'd really like to know that song you sang to me as a baby. My oldest Gillie is too old for it now, but our youngest Frankie is just the right age - 14 months.

I've often wondered what became of you, Karen, Mathew and Curtis. My only family now are my wife, children and my wife's family (all in Norway.) It's lonely, and the kids have no extended family - no big family camping trips or special family dinners....

We live in New Mexico now - Alamogordo. Have for just over a year now. Before that we were in Norway since 2002.

If you ever feel like dropping an email, my address is my last name at gmail.com. I'd really love to hear from you. A visit would be awesome. We have a guest room and lack for nothing. Nearly 8 acres and sunsets that are astounding.

Miss you and really hope to hear from you....

Gil
