Information needed - Osborn(e) family

I am searching for information on the family of Jessie(born 1885) and Rosena (Hamilton) Osborn(e)(born 1887 in Missouri) . They were living in Council Bluffs in the 1925 Iowa census and Rose(na) was living there in the 1930 Fed Census with her daughter Irene (age 11) and Rosena was listed as widowed, so we know that Jessie died sometime between 1925 and 1930.
Any help in finding when he died and possibly Rosena? will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Kathy

Klindt - Age 78

Phyllis Irene Klindt was born on December 21, 1931, to Edward and Lydia (Sander) Schroder in rural Avoca, Iowa. She attended the Avoca schools and graduated with the Class of 1949.

She was united in marriage on February 4, 1950, to Max Klindt at her parent’s home in rural Avoca. Four daughters were born to this union: Virginia, Charlene, Marjorie, and Bernitta. She was right beside her husband in every aspect of the farming operation and raised their four daughters with such a loving touch. Phyllis devoted so much time to her grandchildren. She spent hours playing with them, and teaching them her art of sewing and baking. When the great-grandchildren came along, she was still down on the floor playing with them as she did with her grandchildren. Her love for her family was unconditional.

Phyllis was a long-time member of the Altamont Baptist Church serving in several different offices, including Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, youth group leader, and the women’s group. She was on the auxiliary board at the Baptist Home in Harlan, which included being in charge of the annual soup supper. Phyllis spent many hours working with her hands, including quilting, crocheting, embroidering, canning and baking. Many of the crocheted name plaques found their way all over the United States. Phyllis loved the outdoors, and spent many hours in her flower beds, garden, strawberry and berry patches, and caring for the many trees and bushes she planted over the years. She loved lawn mowing so much, that even in the last year when challenged by her health she would be found out on the lawn mower.

Max and Phyllis have taken several farm tours, traveled through forty-eight states and seven different countries.

Phyllis died on Sunday, January 24, 2010, having attained the age of seventy-eight years, one month, and three days. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gorden.

She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Max Klindt of Avoca, Iowa; daughters: Virginia and her husband Don Bubke of Avoca, Charlene and her husband Ron Ruffcorn of Avoca, Marjorie and her husband Jim Bojanski of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Bernitta and her husband Robert Goettsch of Avoca; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers: Lenard Schroder and his wife Annabelle of Atlantic, Iowa, Loren Schroder and his wife Elaine of Avoca, and Marvin Schroder and his wife Carole of Walnut, Iowa; sister-in-law Janiece Schroder of Oakland, Iowa; other family members and many friends.

Rev. Dianna Holland officiated the 10:30 AM funeral service at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca, Iowa, on Saturday, January 30, 2010. Mike McKnight uncovered a mistake made by a Pottawattamie County dispatcher who sent rescue crews to the wrong No Frills even though the caller told her the right one. The man who needed medical help -- died.

Nathan Juelsgaard died last month of an aortic aneurysm. He collapsed inside a Council Bluffs grocery store. He was just 32-years old.

"This is a picture of Daddy isn't it?" said Nate's mom Becky Hansen of Treynor, Iowa.

We met with his mother and two of his three children to talk about a mistake involving Nate's medical call.

911: "What's the address of your emergency?"
Caller: "Um. It's No Frills on Valley View Drive."
911: "OK. What's going on?"
Caller: "I have a guy who passed out."

It's January 26, 10:39 in the morning. A minute-and-a-half after 911 received that call, an engine and medic are on the way. Everything seems to be operating smoothly.

Council Bluffs emergency crews arrived at No Frills in less than five minutes from the initial phone call and the victim is still breathing.

But there's a problem. Paramedics can't find him. That's when the 911 operator asks the caller a question.

911: "Sir?"
Caller: "Yeah."
911: "What No Frills are you at?"
Caller: "On Valley View Drive."
911: "OK."

911 sent emergency crews to the wrong No Frills. While Nate Juelsgaard was struggling to stay alive near Valley View Drive -- rescue crews were four miles away -- at the No Frills on Broadway.

Once the dispatcher realized her mistake, she sent crews who were much closer. They arrived in two minutes. Having the right address would have saved six minutes.

"It really upsets me because I had no idea. We were both at the hospital waiting for the ambulance," says victim's mother Becky Hansen.

So what went wrong? When there's more than one business with the same name, an options box pops up on the 911 computer. The operator never asked the caller to verify the address which is against protocol.

The 911 tapes show he told her the right location but she sent rescue crews to the other.

"The seriousness of the situation is obvious. Whether or not the man could have been resuscitated is not for me to say," says Pottawattamie County 911 Director Andrea Schaffer.

The family of Nate Juelsgaard hopes that two things can be learned -- the importance of CPR and double-checking addresses in an emergency.

"Of course it's upsetting for me to think they could have been there in 2-minutes, but ultimately we feel Nate's condition was such that it really didn't make a difference," says Hansen.

Since protocol was broken, the operator who made the error has been given serious disciplinary action but we haven't been given specifics.

The Nate Juelsgaard family is holding a fundraiser next Friday night -- March 5 at Whiskey Roadhouse in Council Bluffs to put away college money for his three children.

Charm attended school in Oneida where she was active in basketball and music. She graduated from Oneida High School in 1935.

Her family owned the barber shop in Oneida, that later included a general store, hardware store and pool hall. Her father also sold ice that he would harvest from the creek near Oneida. Charm had lots of opportunities to practice playing pool, and became quite a pool shark.

Her father passed away in 1936, leaving Charm and her mother to run the store. Charm then had to learn to change the oil in cars and to pump gas.

In 1939, Charm married Burton Stephenson. The couple bought the store’s inventory and ran it for about three years. At that time, Charm’s mother sold the building, so the couple purchased a grocery store in Arlington, Iowa. Charm ran the store by herself while Burton was away in the service. Burton and Charm were the parents of one daughter, Natalie.

After Burton’s death in 1951, Charm moved with her mother and Natalie to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where she worked for the Montgomery Ward Catalog Store. In 1953, Charm was married to Morris Stewart. She then purchased the franchise for the Mode-O-Day store in Council Bluffs, where she worked for about ten years. She then became a field representative for the American Cancer Society until her retirement in 1988. She was dedicated to finding a cure for cancer.

She was a member of the Eastern Star in Atlantic and Marne, Iowa, playing the piano for all the meetings, and was a member of a woman’s bowling league.

Charm will be dearly missed by her friends who will remember her as always smiling, upbeat, looking for the good in life. She loved people and loved to dance and party in the highest heels possible. She loved to travel, taking many cruises with her friends, Bernita Grimm and Marlys Hoines. She also enjoyed driving with her companion, Mr. Bones, a life size doll dressed in surgeon’s attire. Charm supported the Cyclones, but she was a true Hawkeye fan, especially enjoying watching Hawkeye basketball.

She is survived by her nephews, Frank Hanson of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, and Bert Robinson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; her grandnieces, Karen and Cynthia Robinson of Shreveport, Louisiana; her step-grandchildren, Sid (Marcy) Blake of Avoca, Iowa, George (Cathy) Blake of Elwood, Kansas, Dan (Jan) Blake of Shambaugh, Iowa, and Scott (Niki) Blake of King City, Missouri; other relatives; and many, many friends.

Charmion was preceded in death by her parents, B.K. and Thea Hanson; her husbands, Burton Stephenson and Morris Stewart; her daughter, Natalie Blake, her son-in-law, Merle Blake; and her long time companion, dog Zsa Zsa.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa.

Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Memorials may be made in Charm's name to the Cass County Unit of the American Cancer Society, 1500 E. 10th Street, Atlantic, Iowa, 50022, attention: Carole Schuler.

Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa, is in charge of the arrangements.
FYI -

In Iowa, official registration of births, deaths, and marriages began July 1, 1880.
Hi,
James married Rebecca Newton. Someone who is probably related to her, judging by their name, put some info on Rootsweb's family trees saying that the 1870 census in Council Bluffs lists them as Mathewson and in 1880 it's spelled Mathison. Both are common misspellings.
If you can find any death or cemetery information that would give James's parents names, that would be what I need to answer my question: was he my grandfather's brother?
My grandfather was John Matheson, born in January 1847 in Delaware County, Iowa. The family had come to Delaware County in 1840, when his brother James was two years old. The last I saw of our James was the census of 1860, and it's certainly possible he could have moved to the other side of the state during the next decade.
My grandfather moved to Winneshiek County about 1876 and to Cerro Gordo County in 1892, and died in 1936.
Thank you.

I am researching my maternal grandfather George Earl Mitchell (b. 4/7/1917 in Guthrie Centre, IA-d.4/10/1982 in Angleton,TX). He married Nettie Julia Stoltz (b. 10/14/1918 in WI-d 4/11/1982 in Angleton,TX) in Sparta, WI in 1943. They had four children--Gary, Linda, Sandra and Terry.

George's parents were Earl Harrison Mtchell (1888-1971) and Agnes Barrett (1891-1971) who supposedly met at the Iowa School for the Deaf (both were deaf) somewhere between 1910-1915 I think.

Earl Harrison's parents were George Earl (1st) and Clara Foot (or possibly Footel). Agnes Barrett's parents were Walter Barrett and Esther Elizabeth Baldwin.

Supposedly Earl Harrison Mitchell and Agnes Barrett (or their parents) had immigrated to Iowa from England (Manchester area from what I have heard).

I am interested in finding more details on this leg of the family. I also have more information on Nettie Julia Stolt's family. If anyone is interested in what info I have or can offer some of there own, please contact me: kristafromvista@gmail.com

I am looking for information on James Matheson, who was born in the Red River Settlement (what is now Winnipeg, Manitoba) and emigrated to Delaware County, Iowa with his family in 1840. A James Matheson showed up in Pottawattamie County by 1869, when he was married there. I would like to know if this is the same person. If so, he was my grandfather's brother, and was dead by the time of their father's death in 1898. The one who lived in Pottawattamie County was present for the 1895 state census.
Transcription:

History of Pottawattamie County, Iowa
By John H. Keatley, Publisher: O.L. Baskin & Co (1883?)
PG 190
JOHN W. NORRIS, huckstering, Neola, was born in Penfield, Monroe Co., N. Y., September 20, 1824. His father, John Norris, was born in New Jersey May 3, 1778. When quite young, he went to New York State, where he was engaged in farming. In the spring of 1834, he moved to Michigan, where he died in 1862. Subject's mother. Mary (Hall) Norris, was born in New York State April 27, 1780, and died about 1834. She was the mother of thirteen children, of whom our subject is the youngest. Mr. Norris was a farmer for seventeen years, and then learned blacksmithing. After serving an apprenticship of three years, he started a shop of his own, in Nankin, Wayne Co., Mich., where he worked at his trade about three years, and then bought a farm, on which he lived till about 1855. He then sold his first place, and bought another near Lansing, Mich., where he remained till 1863, then went to California, remained ten months, and returned to Michigan. In 1864, he sold his property in Michigan, and, coming to Iowa, located at Council Bluffs, and worked at blacksmithing two years; then, after farming in Harrison County for three years, he came to Neola. in September, 1869, his being the first American family to settle in that place. Mr. Norris was married, in Nankin, Wayne Co., Mich., March 18, 1849, to Electa A. Greenman, born in New York State March 29, 1831, daughter, of Hiram and Henrietta (Delong) Greenman; he, born March 23, 1799, died about 1861 ; she, born in New York State September 7, 1802, died in 1842. The children of this marriage are as follows: Hattie, born January 23, 1850, died September 13, 1852; George O., December 10, 1851, died September 13, 1852; Ida J., born July 21, 1853; Eva J., November 11, 1855; and Henrietta, July 12, 1860. After first settling in Neola, Mr. Norris worked at his trade one and a half years, then farmed six years, and, in December, 1878, returned to Neola, where he has since followed huckstering.
