Re: Enoch Yeates m Matilda Watts, Anderson County
Not sure this will help but will send what I have....my great great grandmother was Paulina Watts Taylor [John] and a sister to Matilda Watts Yeates [Enoch]. If you can locate a Russell D. Casey online...[he was very much into researching Watts line several years ago.] They were daughters of Jacob and Mary Henton/Hinton Watts, both are buried in Pigeon Fork Church Cemetery, near Waddy in Shelby County, KY. In addition they also had Wesley G [1807], Greenup [1810], Jeremiah/Jerry, Wellington, Greenberry. Sarah/Sallie.
Jacob Watts was living with Matilda and Enoch Yeates in 1850 Shelby County, KY...also her brother, Jeremiah was also in that household. Jacob was born in 1779 died 1862...his wife Mary was born 1781 and died 1845.
I haven't worked on this line since 2000.....but my suspicion based on the dates..is the Enoch Yeates born in 1779 is the father of the Enoch born in 1812.....there is an age spread of 33 years that would make that possible. This may cloud the waters some...but its worth thinking about.
