Kettle Island-Who knows about it?

Surnames: Chappell
I have just found that my g-grandmother is buried in Kettle Island, Ky offf Straight Creek. Her name is Mary Chappell.
I understand it was a mining town? Anyone who might know a history..could you please contact me and enlighten me.
