Mr. or Mrs. Trgini,
I'm helping a distant cousin of mine who we just found out about 2 weeks ago, that her ancestors were William Reardon/Rairdon & wife Sarah Dickinson & just this morning, I got a answer from a query for a Bullitt Co.,Ky. marriage lookup for their marriage which was on 1/19/1832, so right now, we have no idea who Sarah Dickinson's siblings or parents are. So it seems you know a little more than we do.
Sorry we can't be of more help.
Don in Indiana

I am looking for information regarding Wm Rardon and Sarah Dickinson. My great great grandfather, William T.O. Dickinson, was taxed in 1843-46 living at William Raredon's. William Raredon stood marriage bond for John S Dickinson, and was the administrator for Isaiah Dickinson. Would love to share any info.
trgini@hotmail.com
I wonder if 2 of these stones might belong to William Markwell, son of John Markwell and Elizabeth Blunk Markwell and his first wife, Margaret Parish/Paris Markwell. In census records, Margaret is b. abt. 1827. William is b. abt 1814. Could the 1811 be 1814? William remarried in about 1855, which would make Margaret's death date work. I have no idea about Mary Hopewell. I would love to see pics.
Laura

I have found that the parents of Anna and Tillman are Benjamin Lovelace Jr, 1774 - 1832, and Chloe Collins 1778 - , they were married Mar 19, 1796 in Loudoun, Virginia. Benjamin's parents were Benjamin Lovelace, 1727 - 1817, and Sarah Collier 1736 -. Perhaps this will help.

Lucy Ann Duvall was born in Kentucky in abt 1827 and married Benjamin Wright in Bullitt County sometime prior to the 1846 when America Elizabeth Wright was born. They were listed in the census as Shaines, but this was incorrect. There were several Duvall's living in Bullitt County at that time and am trying to determine who Lucy Ann's parents were. Several fit, but Charles Duvall and Lucy Waters may be the best bet. I had thought that Jonathan may have been her father but he just did not fit well. Any information will be helpful.

All I know is a George W. Miles married a couple I am researching in Bullitt County, Kentucky. I was hoping that somehow I could find out more information about this couple if I could find out where specifically in Bullitt County Miles preached. The Methodist Episcopal church is a "ancestor" so to speak of the present day United Methodist Church. If I can determine where he preached, I was HOPING that there may be some sort of records on this family I am researching through the church. It is a long shot, but I'm patient and have already invested 15 years researching this line,....to the point that I feel like I am grasping at straws.

Anything that you could tell me about him that relates to Bullitt Co., KY would be very much appreciated. I can be reached directly at: abcm191c@one-eleven.net

Thank you,
Alicia Woolridge Morgason

Dear Sirs:
I am completing a book on a small rural church in Western North Carolina. The Rev. George W. Miles was very influential in that area. He was a D. S. of the Holston Conference. He was active in the Grayson, Wythe and Smyth COunties of Virginia and Ashe and Alleghany counties of North Carolina. He was buried in Round HIll Cemetery in Smyth County Virginia. I would delight in helping you with any other information regarding the Rev. Miles.

i think you have been in touch with my sister Marian Small who has researched the Bullitt Co, Mt Washington Wiggintons and Ellabys. I am working on finding James H. Wigginton's father. Nevada "Vade" was my grandmother, John C was her dad and James was his dad. I have entered the family on My One Great Family and they say that James' father was Fielding and his dad was Seth. I'm am trying to verify this. Not too much on the genealogy webs that tell me for certain. I saw that a Fielding and a Seth were siblings of father William T. Wiggington so not sure about the connections. Any help would be great. Marian said Seth and a Jane King we parents to Fielding and his wife Elendor. Any knowledge of this???? Thanks, Nevda Ellen nee Ellaby Plummer.Vade's namesake!

This thread is an updated query related to my previous post regarding Earl & Hardin McNutt of Knob Creek, KY on the McNutt surname board. Since this post I have discovered new information, though am not 100% sure of its accuracy. I would like to find other sources confirming this information and pose several more questions that have arisen during my research. I have attached two descendant charts to this message.

Hardin McNutt: Born around 1870. Married to Rosa Miller (1871-1927)
-Children: Cecil, Earl, Hazel

The following information was derived from this website: http://files.usgwarchives.org/ky/bullitt/census/1850/1850.tx...

-Hardin McNutt is the son of Robert McNutt (1824-1899) and Martha Royalty (1848-?)

-Robert McNutt is the son of Thomas McNutt (dates unknown, though possibly between 1785-1850) and Mary Woodrow (1785-1857). It is possible that Thomas was born in Ireland, though I would need more information confirming this.

I am in need of the following information:

-Hardin McNutt: Accurate birth date, date and place of death, date and place of marriage to Rosa Miller, confirmation of his parents and other ancestors listed here, any other personal information available. Any information regarding Martha Royalty would be helpful too.

-Thomas McNutt: parents, date and place of birth, date and place of death, date and place of marriage, complete list of children, immigration information, confirmation of information listed above.

-I am also interested in a Martha McNutt (1809-?), one of Rosa Miller’s ancestors. I would like to know her parents, date and place of birth, date and place of death.

James and Lucy had a daughter Martha Elizabeth "Patsy" Crenshaw as noted in my ggg grandfather, Isaac Spencer's christening as his mother. He was not christened into the Catholic Church until he was forty years of age. "Patsy" was married to Sharp Spencer, the son of John Spencer and Rosanna Graves. She and Sharp had about 8 children. They would name one of the sons, Sharp. Also, I don't know if Doctor was the son of "Patsy" Crenshaw or not. Sharp would later marry Jane Cready/Crady and have additional children. I do know that one of Sharp's sons was named Doctor Spencer but I do not recall which marriage it was by.

I am going to be traveling to your area in July to work on genealogy research. Quite honestly, I'm not very familiar with researching church records and have no idea where to begin. I'm trying to get a better idea of where to look when I get to your area, but am feeling a bit overwhelmed. When I looked in the UMC directory, I was amazed that there were so many UMC churches within Louisville, let alone the surrounding area! (The UMC church in which I belong has one pastor that we share with another congregation in our charge! :-)

I know that a couple in the family I am researching was married by a Methodist Episcopal Minister by the name Geo. W. Miles in 1847 of Bullitt County. I have no idea where in the county AND I know that this family lived in both Bullitt and Jefferson Counties during that general time period.

How do I narrow down which church or churches would be more likely to have records possibly pertaining to my ancestors? Is there anything online that could help me determine which specific church or churches in the area were ministered by Rev. Miles during that time period?

Thank you for your assistance.

Alicia Woolridge Morgason
ELZY/ELZEY descendant

I'm researching this family; if you're still reading these boards, please contact me at Nmissi at Aol dot com. I'd love to discuss the family and share information.

Nmissi

In 1801, a John B. Davidson/Davison filed his will in Bullitt Co., KY, and he left his land to Basil Crow/Crowe. I have some reason to believe that this John B. Davison MIGHT have been from VA, so he MAY have met Basil Crow in KY....but no proof. John B. Davidson had a half-brother who was named Benjamin Kitchen (same mother, but different father), and men named Samuel May and Richard May were the witnesses on the will. I see from your post that Basil Crow was a son of Samuel Crow from MD. Wish I knew more.
