ASHLAND: Sarah Alice Shepherd, 69 who grew up in Greenwich and lived the latter part of her life in Shelby, Ohio died March 30, 2012 at Hospice House in Ashland, Ohio.

She was born May 26, 1942 in Gunlock, KY the daughter of Wilkie and Lucy Stephens Shepherd.

She was a laborer for MTD in Shelby and a member of the Messiah House of Prayer in Shiloh. Sarah loved to garden and was known for her apple pie.

She is survived by four children, Annette (Bob) Johnson of Ashland, Lucy Sexton of Bainbridge, Brenda McKenzie of Shelby, Ohio and Paul McKenzie of Florida; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Souslin of New London, OH ;and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson, Devin Finley.

Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday April 3, 2012 at the Messiah House of Prayer in Shiloh with Pastor Bill Howell officiating. Burial will be in Jeromesville Cemetery. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
