Who were James and Sam Caudill? I know they both were ORB (Old Regular Baptist) preachers in SE Kentucky, probably Letcher, Harlan, or Perry County in the late 1800's or early 1900's. I have a picture of these men as two of 14 ORB preachers in a composite which has the caption, "Blessed Are the Dead Who Die in the Lord." I think the picture was published around 1930. There were a lot of Caudills in Kentucky. I know there was an Elder John Caudill who donated land and then became pastor of Salt Lick Church. There was a James Caudill who was a pioneer member of Indian Bottom Church, but this was too early for him to be the one in the picture. I am trying to find out who James and Sam were. Where did they preach? Did they have families? Whom did they marry, and did they have children? fredwyn@gmail.com
