Hi Patti,
Thank you for contacting me. I have not yet had time to go through all of my records-and that may take several months as I enter in all the data I have collected into my database, but...I believe I have found at lest one one the people for whom you are looking.
In the NEW SWEDEN, MAINE BURIAL and CEMETERY RECORDS I have found a a THEODORE STEDT of Worcester, MA died July 1, 1958 at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 6 days. He was listed as married at the time of his death and is buried on Lot # 8, West side of Walk 2 West in the New Sweden cemetery. I believe (or at lest it would seem to fit) that he was married to SADIE P. FORESMAN STEDT who is also buried on that same lot in the cemetery. She died at the age of 80 years 6 months and 15 days on January 6, 1968. Also buried on that same lot is FRED FORESMAN who died on September 21, 1987. I have not yet determined the relationship.
I have also found at least 7 other STEDTs buried in that same cemetery-but on other lots. There is no record of an ANNA STEDT, There is record of only one person with the last name of ADOLPHSON buried in this cemetery. That person is listed as L.E.N. ADOLPHSON ( a male) and died at the age of 1 month 25 days on Febuary 28, 1892. The lot where he is buried is not recorded. There are 7 individulas recorded with the last name of ABRAHAMSON -none with the name of ANNA, or CHARLOTTA.
I would like to help you more with your search. Could you please email me your email address so that I may contact you directly should I find anything new on your family. Also I am planing on photographing all of the stones in the cemetery next year. If you would like a copy of the picture of the STEDT FAMILY STONE , please let me know. My email address is johnson@aasc.net . And if you are able to share more of your ancestors history with me for my NEW SWEDEN MAINE SWEDISH EMMIGRANTS project I would be very grateful. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
P.S. By the way a branch of my own Swedish family is also from Vastra Ny, Ostergotland, Sweden.
Lynn
