Your a doll Tammy!!
Thank you so much.

I am not related to this family either. I am working on the Korean War Project and needed this obit.

Joseph's son Gilman was a Korean War KIA. Further details can be found at the website at bottom of note. Our government is searching for the survivors of this family as well as thousands of other families for DNA testing. I volunteer my services to locate the surviving family members nation wide. I have had great difficulty searching in Maine. But thanks to you ONE family and soldier may be given a little peace.

Thanks again for your help Tammy.

Sincerely,
Susan

http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/index.php?page=mission_overview&am...

I have found the following family information for the only Fern Brown born in Massachusetts in the correct time frame. The births and second marriage of Annie RAE are records obtainable from the Archives. The birth record would give the father's name. I have also included the available census data and put it in a timetable format and included the contact information for the archives.

Massachusetts Archives
150 Mt.
Fern has always been the dead end for us. She left her family right after her daughter was born so we have almost no info. I've always assumed she went back to her maiden name since she had no connection to the family. I think you might be on to something with the Divorced record...

Hello,
I am looking for anyone who may know any information on a Fern Brown who married Frank McGlinchey and had at least one daughter Dorothy in 1916. Dorothy married William Mahoney and had little information about Fern as she lost contact with Dorothy sometime after she was born. They would have been born/raised around Boston and ultimately ended up living in Winthrop, Ma. Any information on the either individual would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jenny

Look at your dates again. You say you think your Elizabeth was born 1826. I gave you Elizabeth birth date 1834. This is a difference of 8 years. I don't think you would have two (2) Elizabeth Porters and Elias Brown at that time.
How are you related to the Brown's?

Hi there! Just thought I'd jump in on this post. Just started researching a friend's family and his great-grandfather was Samuel Morrison, who married Pamelia McKee in Merrill Plantation. Pamelia is the "Amelia" you saw in the 1850 census... 1860 lists her as Pamelia. They were married about 1869 and had John, George, William, Robena, Maary, Samuel and Grover Cleveland Morrison. Samuel came from Scotland around 1856 and settled first in Masardis, then Merrill. Have you found any more info on Thomas and John's origins in Ireland?

The dau. of Elias & Elizabeth Porter was born in 1937, but the Elizabeth Brown I am seeking was born about 1826..that is a pretty large gap...more than just a couple of years. Thank you for responding and trying to help me out.

From the Aroostook Times 30Dec1914

" Sam'l Burgess Dead
Sam'l Burgess, a well known citizen was found dead upon the floor of his room on Military St. last Friday by chief of police Hogan who had been notified by a friend of Burgess, that upon trying to enter his room, he could get no response.
Mr. Burgess was a cripple and lived alone, upon investigation by Coroner Buzzell it was evident that he had been stricken with a sudden illness and had apparently been dead several hours. As far as is known he had no relatives."
I am trying to find info on two children listed in the 1850 census for Houlton.
1. Susan Tirrell, age 9, living with the James Lindsey family, comment "Pauper".
2. Ira Tirrell, age 9, living with the Michael Tobin family.

Does anyone know if any Houlton town records for paupers still exist? I am trying to determine if Susan is my ancestor and if Ira is her brother.

Jo-Ann

Thank you so much for going to the trouble of tracking this down for me! According to the 1900 census, Martha had four children surviving, three of which I knew, so thanks to your efforts, I was finally able to track down which (of the two I wasn't sure of) was the surviving fourth. If you ever need anything checked in New Brunswick, Canada, let me know.

Have a great day,

Nanci

John Uppling, Aroostok, married to Josephine Marquis (Canadian born, orphan),
he went to Kentucky in 1907 or 08, was killed in Louisville
in a lumber factory. Was grusomely injured when a board
went loose and nearly cut him in two. He lived for 2 or 3 days, but then passed on.

The family left and went on to Albany, Indiana where many of
the decendents still reside in Indiana and Illinois.
My father, John Gustave, next to the youngest in age, moved many times until he settled in the Hill Country of Texas around 1948.

After seeing this post regarding the BROWN family in Aroostook, I was wondering if you might know of an Elizabeth A. Brown, born about 1826 in New Brunswick. She died after the 1880 census in Aroostook County, Maine; probably in Presque Isle, since that is where her husband died. Elizabeth married George W. McGuire about 1847, prob. in New Brunswick since their first two children, Alonzo and Darius were born there. The other six children were born in Maine; the last 3 of those in Castle Hill Plantation. I do not know who Elizabeth's parents were, and I am hoping that you might know of this family?
Thank you for your time.
Deborah
