Concerning the following listing in the United States Cemetery Project website for the New Marlborough Cemetery

"Richardson Frances Cowles 1826 12/9/1910 Dr. M.C."

There is a mistake in this listing. Cowles is her middle name, not her maiden name which is Catlin. Obviously, the transcriber would have had no way of knowing this.

She was the sister of Laura Richardson, the next name in the list, and thus the daughter of Joseph Catlin and Laura (Smith) Catlin.

Frances Cowles Catlin and her sister Laura Smith Catlin* were married to brothers; Frances to Moses Charles Richardson and Laura to David Richardson. Laura and David lived in Knoxville, TN, and perhaps he is buried there. After David's death, Laura eventually returned to Massachusetts.
