I just found a relative in the 1930 federal census, and the 1934 Lynn city directory, who lived at 225 Walnut Ave. When I went by today to see the place, it was quite an impressive home high up overlooking Walnut Ave. A sign on the garage said "The Stone House, Erected in 1854 by Judge James R. Newhall."

There was some kind of plaque on a post in front, but I couldn't stop long enough to read it. Does anyone have any history or information on this house?

My relative is WELCH, Thomas F., who was a shoemaker in Lynn.
