Dorothy and Doris were two different people. Dorothy may have died between 1920 and 1930, but Doris was living in 1930 age 3 and a half.

Bertha's death record says single. (Choices were single, married, Widowed or divorced.)Cause of death was Anaemia with Peritonitis as contributing cause.

Maybe someone can find obit of Mona and find out what happened to Doris. She died in July 1966. Last residence Pompton Plains, Morris County, New Jersey.

My goodness..thank you so much for all of this information in such a speedy reply. Was Doris or Dorothy the only child of Mona and George in the census records? If she was not with them in the 1930 census, perhaps she died between censuses? Does it appear that Bertha never married? Needless to say, it is important to me to find out if these two sisters had any children. From this information it seems unlikely. Thanks again for your help!
Jean

I am searching for information and descendants of two sisters, Bertha May Reed and Mona Alma Reed, both daughters of Charles Keller Reed and Carrie S. Bosworth, in the Worcester, MA. area. Bertha May Reed was born on Mar. 16, 1874 in Rhode Island. Moa Alma Reed was born in Worcester, MA. on July 18, 1892. The family moved to Worcester, MA. between 1874 and 1876 and were life long residents. The two women were sisters of Chester Albert Reed, who was born on Jan. 10, 1876 in Worcester, MA.

I am searching for any information concerning Chester's two sisters named above and their descendants. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Jean Mayo

I wonder if you know where and when John O'Donnell was born, who his parents, and sibblings may have been.
I'm asking because my grandmother Mary Ann O'Donnell had a brother John.
Their parents were James O'Donnell born around 1845 or so, and Susan White Doherty born around 1845 or so. Both as far as I know in Co Donegal Ireland. Mary Ann, and John had other sibblings as well.
Patrick 1867, John*1868, Neal 1871, Mary Ann 1873, Maggie 1875, Denis 1878, and Philip 1880.

I wonder if you can tell me who the children you mentioned in message may have married, where and when, and their children.

Thank you
Barbara
I know most of the children immigrated to MA. Denis married Catherine McLaughlin, and Philip both lived in the Everett area, which is near Charlestown MA. My grandmother married Patrick Bradley April 17 1902 in Dorchester, lived in Malden, Peabody, and finally settled in Salem, where they raised their 6 children Susan, helen, Margaret(my mom) Mary James and Theresa.

I have been trying for years to learn about John, who he married who his wifes' family was, and who the children may have been, and todate this has been the closest I've come to learning anything--maybe--hopefully???

Thank you. That may help some.
I'd like to try to find a connection
Mine came from Cork, and Donegal areas of Ireland.
If I can help I'd be glad too, just ask specific questions so I'd know what I was looking for.ok?

Thank you
Barbara

What I have found myself doing is posting messages here, and on other sites, in hopes that someone with a Wade, Rossi, O'Connor, Lawlor, Thorpe, Sinnott, Winterhalder Bradley connection may know the only Wade I know of.

I was wondering if someone could possibly find an obituary, if there is one, for a Barbara Scott who died on Feb 27, 1898. She was a widow and was born in Scotland. Place of death was Carney Hospital, Boston, on 245 Commonwealth Ave. I have a copy of her death certificate and it lists her parents names as David and Alexandine. I'm trying to find out if she was survived by a son George Scott who was living in Saint John, New Brunswick Canada at the time of her death. Place of burial and Undertaker names are blank on the death certificate.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Barb.

Retta L listed as "teacher" in Boston, MA 1889 Business Directory. Can find no other references to Retta L. or her sister, Minnie. Any information would be appreciated.

But its a very common name in these parts, so I'm just tossing this out.
If you think it could be them, one suggestion, since I'm not in touch with this women since we both retired, is to get your hands on a phone directory(and check it out.

Good Luck again
Barbara

They married in Carndonagh Co Donegal Jan 1881, immigrated to MA April 1881, settled first in Stoneham, and later in the No End of Boston. I'm not sure where their children wound up after they married, but I'm assuming it was in one of the Boston neighborhoods, like Hyde Park.

Good Luck.

Barbara

Jane had another daughter named Mary Jane born 1942 & I was born in 1943. My heart would soar if we could meet. Sadly I found my mother's & grandmothers death notice online, but any remaining family info, photos, etc would be truly appreciated!

Timmi Lenzing Sommer
email @ Anonymomma@bbs-la.com

Rapelje, the present clerk of the board, is a native of St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, and was born March 28, 1817, being a son of Daniel and Elizabeth (Vandervoot) Rapelje, both of whom were of American birth, being born in New York. Hiram L. was reared and educated in St. Thomas, remaining there until reaching his 23d year. In 1840, he started west with the intention of taking up land and making a home for himself, and located near Mt. Carroll, Carroll county, Illinois, where he took up a claim. He went to Savannah, Carroll county Illinois to reside, and worked a farm north of there adjoining the river. He remained there one year and then returned to Black Oak Grove, Carroll county, where he lived till 1843. He was married there in 1842, to Sarah Bridgewater, a native of England, and a sister of Mrs. Babcock, of Tennessee, Illinois. In 1843, Mr. Rapelje went to Aurora, Kane county, Illinois, where he worked at the trade of harness-making, which he had learned at St. Thomas, Canada. He remained there some two years, then removed to St. Charles, Illinois, where he lived one year, and then went to Batavia, Illinois, where he commenced the harness-making business for himself. He remained there some eight or ten years, after which he made several moves before coming to Tennessee, Illinois. After remaining there some five or six years, he removed to Plano, Illinois, where he had previously lived. After a stay of about one year, he again came to Tennessee, and has remained ever since. During his residence in Kaneville, Kane county, Illinois, he was a justice of the peace. While living in Batavia he raised a company of independent horsemen, and served as their captain up to the breaking out of the war. He enlisted in 1861 in the 8th Illinois cavalry, and was mustered in as captain of company I. They served with McClellan on the Potomac, and were under Stoneman and Pleasanton, and were engaged in the seven days fight at Richmond. In 1863, Captain Rapelje resigned his commission and returned to his home. After being in Tennessee, Illinois, one year, he was elected police magistrate and served two years, and since that time he has been justice of the peace and notary public, which positions he still holds. He has also held the following offices: Township supervisor, one term; postmaster, one and one-half years. He is a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellow lodges, and holds the position of secretary in both lodges. He is also at present town clerk, clerk of the board of trustees of the village, and treasurer of the school board. Before coming to this country, he was a cavalryman during the civil war of 1837 in Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Rapelje have four children--A. W., Hiram L., Lizzie and William R. They have had the misfortune to lose two children--Josephine, who died in Kaneville, Illinois, in 1858, and George, who died at the age of eight years. They also have an adopted daughter--Ella--whom they have raised.

Hello. My ancestor, Joseph KIDDER, was one of 3 brothers who left Chelmsford / Westford, MA, in mid-1700's to move to New Ipswich, NH. After a while, Joseph and his wife and their children moved over to the next town, Temple, NH.

Because of that research, I found out about this web site several years ago:

http://home.att.net/~mensch-family/Temple-NH.htm

Perhaps the SPOFFORD and BARKER names are mentioned on it.

Betty (near Lowell, MA)
