Herman Polzin Augusta Tuenge Family New Ulm Photo

I have this large family picture of the Herman and Augusta (Tuenge) Polzin family that lived in New Ulm from 1887 - until Herman and Augusta's deaths. I'll post here so that others that may be interested in it can view or copy it.

Any Polzin descendents with info to share please let me know. This large photo was taken at New Ulm Studio, Minnesota.

Names: back Henry, Meta, Paul, Martha, Anna, Emil
Front: Richard, Father Herman, Alma, Rudolph, Little Augusta, Mother Augusta, Bertha. Mother Augusta was daughter of August and Augusta Tuenge, and grew up in Schievelbein/Belgard area of Pomerania/Germany. Immigrated in 1887 to US.

The area this Tuenge line is from is not the "Pommern, Cochem-Zell...etc" some people are copying/posting inaccurately to some of the Tuenge lines. Pommern was then merely the word for that part of Germany/Prussia/Pomerania. Today these villages that the Tuenges and in-laws lived in are in Poland's boundaries and thus have Polish names now.

Help in finding a grave

I have information that three distant family member were buried in the Springfield Cemetery and was wondering if anyone can locate the cemetery and find out if in fact they are buried there. I did a search at the find a grave web site, but there is no record of them. I have copied their information below. Thanks for any help.

Dan

Virginia Mae Anthony
Birth 6 Aug 1927 in Albert Lea, Freeborn, Minnesota
Death 2 Mar 1992 in Fullerton, Orange, California

She passed away in California, but I am told she is buried in the Springfield Cemetery. She was the daughter of Cassie Katherine Rue Anthony Brown, FAG Record: 54794871, and Raymond Christmas "Ray" Anthony, FAG Record: 52751966.

From what I can figure out Virginia was married 4 times, but I am not sure what her last name would be on her burial records. At one time she was married to: someone with the last name of Edmerton, a George LeCuyer, Richard F. Gardner and a Robert E. Kuehl. Robert Kuehl was her last husband and her California Death record and SSDI have her listed with his last name.

The next two people are the parents of Cassie and was told that they too are buried in the Springfield Cemetery.

Harold Evenson Rue
Birth May 1868 in Minnesota
Death 30 Nov 1929 in Brown County, Minnesota

Ingeborg Emma Pederson Rue
Birth 8 Apr 1874 in Sterling, Blue Earth, Minnesota
Death 13 Nov 1948 in Montana

Hi
Thank you. I found the same one and believe it must be a son or grandson. The older one appears to have just disappeared from records. The only thing I can think of is that he traveled out of state and died out of state. I don't find any death record for the Minnesota death index or on Family Search, but I did find hers in 1908.

Thanks again
Leslie

Hoping to help someone in Germany trace his family in Minnesota. We have Henry and Veronika Kimmerle in Brown County. Henry shows up on the 1885 census, but not the 1895. Veronika is in Hennepin County at the time of her death in 1908 so it appears that she moved after his death. Looking for possible date of death for Henry and any other records relating to this family.I have searched Family Search and unable to find a death for Henry.

Thank You

Hi, Jerry--the names are too similar to be a coincidence, although Nick Reinhart's mother's name is supposed to be Sophia and his father was John. In any case, I think that there is a tie-in here in some way that I can't quite figure out at present. Dorothea's father was Peter Gulden, but he was married more than once, and we don't know who her mother was , but one of Peter's wives was Kate Klaaske.
How to reach you by e-mail? katznjan@yahoo,com

Write to me off line and I can send you a 45 page write up in a pfd file that I share with Gulden relatives. From this family Nic had two wives, I come from the first, most in New Ulm from the second.
Hi Mickey,,A group of Irish families moved to Eden Twp. by Sleepy Eye in 1868 from Jessenland in Sibley County. My Grimes ancestors, plus Doheny, Raverty, and others were among the movers. I have no record of any O'Briens but that does not mean much. I do have a Drexler family that intermarried with my Doheny ancestors. My family is buried in the St Mary's Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.

Is the person you are looking for Audrey Lynn Hoffman, born 11 May 1942 in Redwood, Minnesota, daughter of Ewald Herman Hoffman and Irma Ida Beekman? If so, I looked up her birth date on Familysearch.org, Minnesota Birth Index, 1935 - 2002. That's where I found the birth date of 11 May 1942.
Now, this may not be the right one, but could be worth checking: The Social Security Death Index shows an Audrey Weiss, born 11 May 1942 who died 31 Dec 2007 in Florida. Same first name, same birth date. I found a death notice, but could not find a complete obituary
Weiss, Audrey: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice
South Florida Sun-Sentinel (Fort Lauderdale, FL) - January 3, 2008
Deceased Name: Weiss, Audrey
Weiss, Audrey, 65, of Boynton Beach, FL passed away on December 31, 2007.
Will do. I know Harlan started looking into genealogy, but I haven't talked to him since my grandmother's funeral 5 years ago. I pretty much know the Strom genealogy starting with Tollef, but I am still somewhat vague on Chrestian, his brothers/sisters, and parents. I was able to track down that the Strom's came from Oyer Norway and usually used the surames of Tostensen, Andersen, or Christiansen.

I am looking for information on two of my grandmother's cousins who emigrated from Lesja, Oppland, Norway to the Hanska, MN area - Carl and Andrew Bellrud.

Carl Anton/Anthony Bellrud / Karl Anton Bjølverud (06 Jan 1880 Lesja - 17 Aug 1934 Billings, MT)
m. Clara / Carrie / Cary LastNameUnknown, possibly Hovde (Birthdate unclear: 21 Sep 1874 or abt 1887, Birthplace unclear: Norway or Hanska, MN. Parents always listed as from Norway in records. Death date: Possibly 23 Jul 1960 in Brown Cty, MN - but there is a death of a Clara Bellrud in Wisconsin records the day before.)
There is a Clara Hovde (father, Thomas Hovde) in the 1910 census with a dob abt 1886. I'm not sure if this is the family, but "Hovde" is Clara's mother's name as reported on her death record.
Carl and Clara eventually moved to Billings, Montana. When Carl died, Clara apparently moved back to Hanska and married Andrew.

Andrew:
Andrew Bellrud / Andreas Bjølverud (20 May 1882 Lesja - 12 Jul 1956 Watonwan, Minnesota, USA)
m. Borgine (Gina) Pladsen (Feb 1875 MN? - 02 Sep 1936 Brown, Minnesota, USA) on 21 Nov 1910
m. Clara Bellrud circa 1935/36?

Possible spellings: Belrood, Balrad, Bellrude, Bjolvrud, etc.

If there is anyone with Brown county connections who could help me, I'd love to get copies of obits and anything else that might help me learn more about them. My grandmother apparently never knew that they had immigrated. I've been searching for these people for more than 15 years. Have found interesting things in Norwegian records, but have reached an impasse with USA records/Ancestry.com.

Mange takk!
Ruth Marie

It appears to me that Tosten Andersen married to Kirsti Knudsdr in 28 Mar 1820, Øyer, Oppland, Norway are the parents of the clan. I understand that the name of the farm was Strom and they may have been tenant farmers.

Knut/Knud Strom was Andrew/Anders brother and Christian Joined them latter in Butternut Valley.

I have not seen all of the Stroms in the Butternut Valley Cemetary I need to find the records on that.

I did find that Anders Strom died in 1902 and was buried in the Palmyra Lutheran Church Cemetery in Minn.

Hi Judy,
I am hoping that you are still using Ancestry or at least getting emails. I am also working on Gulden history (my great grandfather was Conrad Gulden)and have come to a dead end with Kate K. I did get the marriage certificate from Nicollet county, but it doesn't help much. I am trying to sort out the birth order for Conrad, Dora and Johanna Rosina just to figure out who the mother is for each of these children. If you want to compare notes, please email me at nancyrmattoon@gmail.com. Which of Peter's wives is your ancestor? Johanna Hauser?
Best regards,
Nancy M
