It sounds like we are searching for the same family. Can you tell me how to find those birth certificates that you mentioned in the post (see below)? Also, William Conrad Windish (1883-1979) said that his maternal grandmother's name was Lydia Vansciver. Do you know anything about her family or her husband?
For the reference of those reading this email, William Windish (b. 1852) married Alice Vansciver Windish (b. 1858). William's parents were Conrad Windish (b. 1823) and Louisa Wagner Windish (b. 1852). William’s siblings are Elizabeth and Frank A.

You are at a dead end because I beleive you are looking for Vansciver not vansciber We are searching the same family tree .
William Conrad Windish Married alice vansciver children william Conrad windish named after his father born march 28, 1883 I found this searching birth cert.
