Lee, Libhart family 1790-1835
I am looking for information on two early settlers of Naples, NY. One is the father of Phineas Pearce Lee, b. 1795 the first white child born in Naples. In the Naples history, his father is listed as Col. James Lee. However, the only James I can find was only 14-15 at the time of Phineas' birth which makes his an unlikely father. There was also a Col. Jonathan Lee b. 1745 in Naples at that time who may have died about 1815. In the 1800 census, he has a son <10 who could be Phineas. Does anyone have any information as to Phineas' parents?
My second query is about John Libhart who is listed in the history of Naples as John Sibhart. I believe he is the father of Nancy Libhart, who became Phineas Lee's wife. He may also have sons Joseph, Russell, and William. All these children went west and ended up in Branch County, Michigan. Again, I am looking for information that would connect John Libhart with Nancy Libhart.
