If you're still looking for information, Eddie and Lela were my husband's great-grandparents, by birth. It is my understanding that they had four children (Leslie, b. 1922, is the oldest). I believe Eddie was mentally ill and sent to a hospital. Lela remarried to John Groom, who adopted their youngest son, Ervie (my husband's grandfather), and had three additional children.
