He was born in 1881. thank you for your help. How did you look this information up. did you list mt. loretta under the location?

Well, the very first rule is to always keep an open mind when researching.

So trying to connect the dots, I started with what you do know: Catherine Hagerty married David McMahon The italian gen site is the link I provided, above. (Just clink the link and explore) It is sponsored by the Italian Genealogical society, but is not limited to any specific heritage. It has compiled database from the NYC area, that are not available online anywhere else. The actual documents, marriage, birth & death certs must be requested thru the city or county. Using the same database, discovered that David MAY HAVE died, again a death cert should be requested to determine if that is YOUR David McMahon

It is conjecture, that YOUR Catherine married Arthur Jaahn in 1914, but the fact that A David is in 1930 US census, age 19, born NY, living with a mother in CT named Catherine, who was born Ireland, with a daughter sharing her last name born NY age 14, seem to point in that direction. Coupled with the Social Security # issue state as CT For David McMahon, the actor.

Also there is a Catherine Johns who died in CT 1952, according to Ancestry.com

Are these people related to you? Does anyone in your family have any memory that might back this up? What is that you would like to find about these people, exactly?

I am a great grandson of Robert Corton Lusty. I am also
having difficulty in tracing his father's family history.
Both Robert and his brother, Charles, were combat veterans of the Civil War. Charles, son of the Charles you are
enquiring about, was killed in the battle of New Bern, North Carolina on March 14, 1862 and is buried at the national miltary cemetery at that location.
Robert: Company E 15th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry
Charles: Company H 51st New York Infantry
For further biographical information please contact the
web site for the 15th Massachusetts Infantry at which I
provided additional family history.

Hello

http://www.italiangen.org/

has the marriage as Jul 1, 1900 in Manhattan cert #11096. That same site has "A" David McMahon death cert in 1912, and a marriage cert for "a" Catherine McMahon to an Arthur Jaahn Feb 25 1914

It is not certain that these are the people you seek, but the clue is the 1930 census of David J McMahon age 19 (according to imdb David McMahon, the actor, was born Dec 11 1910) is in Bristol CT with Catherine Johns, born Ireland, and a Emma Johns listed as daughter age 14 born NY. Davis McMahon died 1972, the ssdi says his Social Security number was issued in CT

I would visit the italian gen site, get all the cert numbers and then order them
to verify that these are your family

Kate may be the Kate Haggerty at the Ellis Island site arriving 1897 on the ship Teutonic, she says she is going to an uncle in San Fran, and is 17.

Good Luck!

Not much is known he was Married at the time to a Grace Bruce-Besaw and to my knowledge they had one child who is my grandpa William Lewis Besaw born June 13, 1929. We are pretty sure that this will be the William Besaw we are looking for he served in dannemora. I know that he had more children from a previous marriage or affair unsure of how many or if they were married. But to me if he was sentenced in 1928 depending on when it was then this willliam besaw might not be the biological father of my grandpa. so any and all information on his sentencing and trial including any newspaper articles would be helpful. I do know also that Grace was married before to a Clifford Trimm and had children with him. I do not know more than that like parents because my grandpa was always told that he died in prison.

My name is Elsa,I have such a desire to know my roots. Most of all I am trying to find, my mother Ruth Cordero CABAN, side of the family. Her mom Clotilde CABAN, died when my mom ruth, was very young, about 10 yrs old. Her mom had massive heart attack,in Brooklyn (Kings county Hosp)in 1953, she was just 48 yrs old. For whatever reason comunication with my mom's sister in Puerto Rico ceased. Mom never heard of them ever agin, She is now 69 and hasn't stopped mentioning ever since I can remember that she would like to someday meet her first or second cousins, that live in PUERTO RICO. My mom's Granddad (Juan Caban) and her Aunts born in Moca, PR(Flora & Francisca Caban) lived in Barrio Espino Añasco, PR in the years 1945 & 50"s. My mom remembers, her mother getting mail often from this place and time. If you can please help me find her cousins or give me ideas on how to go about it. I would greatly appreciate it. I want her to have this before she leaves this world. I would like to find how i can confirn that Juan Caban and Abad Caban are brothers, also. Very important. Thank you and God bless you. email: holyb4him@aol.com Elsa
Also looking desperately for my mom's youngest brother, Born Moises Cordero, march 18, 1946.Adopted by his 3 years taking care of him, foster parents that lived in yonker, ny. He attended yonkers public school from about when he was 7 yrs old through 11, when his adoption was signed by my grand dad,so that that moises and his adopted parents can freely move to where they wanted to go in Texas. Correspondense was received from Moises to my father severeal times, till his adopted parents ask to stop so he can start fresh. Mom remembers that he wrote to their dad that he was taking violin lessons. We think Moises first name was not changed just the last name except for maybe from spanish Moises to Moses because at 11 years old my mom remembers them calling him by his first name. (My grandfather had permission to visit him because social services got involved due to my fathers illness not because of negligense, till he was officially adopted several yrs later, like I wrote before, they wanted to move to Texas We have his original birth certificate. ny ideas??? he is the only living sibling of my mom plus she doesnt know any of her cousins. Please help. Thank you, Elsa
again. God Bless. holyb4him@aol.com

Tobias Olsen Breilid from Bjelland, Norway to New York

I am trying to find information on a grand uncle who emigrated from Norway to the US. This is a hard one to solve as we have hardly any information on him.

Tobias Olsen Breilid; born July 1st 1870 in Bjelland Parish, Vest Agder County, Norway. His parents were Ole Torjessen Breilid and Susanna Sorensdatter Leland.

I believe I have found him on a passenger manifest to New York in 1895 as Tobias Olsen.

The story has it that he was a sailor and had at some point lived in New York. This is consistent with a photograph I have of him, that is clearly taken by a photographer in Brooklyn.

How this photo came to be in our possession is not clear. Whether it was sent by Tobias himself or someone else brought it from America I do not know. My great grandfather apparently did not speak much of his brother.

I would appreciate any help I can get on solving this.

Thank You,
Osmund

I looked on www.AnyWho.com, and found four people with the last name Phillips on Phillips road in Boonville. I live a few miles away, also in Boonville, but I don't know the family. Can I be of any help?

I am looking for descendants of George & Kathryn and Leo Huntsman. Both men were born in the 1890's in Auburn,NY and moved to the Rochester area. They had a sister Ida Blanche Huntsman-Carris. She was married to William Carris who was my mother's uncle. I have a bunch of very old photos and would be willing to share them with the family.

This line has been a dead end in my family for years. I am the granddaughter of Ernest Sterling Palmerton, Son of Roy L. Palmerton, son of Lyman Palmerton. If you've uncovered any new information regarding the Palmerton family, I would love to hear about it! I also do not have any additional information about my great-great grandfather's wife, Louisa Wilson. If you have searched this line, I would be interested in it as well. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your information. I had actually used that site to search for my husband's Italian relatives but never any other nationality. I found when my great grandfather died; I found out when my grandfather's sister died. This site has been wonderful in finding when relatives died. Now I can try to fill in the blanks. It's strange when you have so much information for some years but for example, I lose Herbert Foster Cushman in 1890 and 1900 then pick him up again.
Again, thank you so much for your help.
It appears that Herbert's death may be indexed here
http://www.italiangen.org/

under the topic Vital Records, it notes a Herbert Cushman died 2/4/1945 age 71 Manhattan NY. There is also a death in 1899 of Don Alonxo Cushman, died as an infant, so it couldn't be his brother Don Alonzo, who is found in 1880 in albany NY with Herbert and his family. So perhaps it's a child of Herbert's.

I have him in NY in 1920 but I've run into a stumbling block as to deaths etc. of all involved.

Any help or suggestions would be welcomed. Thank you.
