Looking for information Thomas Rogers/Rodgers (b. 4 Oct 1874)

Classification: Query
Surnames: Rogers, Rodgers
I am attempting to trace my father's family but have run into a roadblock on his grandfather, completely unable to find any records of his parents and my dad says he doesn't remember, both of his parents are deceased.

The information that I have been able to gather from ancestry and family members:

Name: Thomas Rogers (Rodgers on his WWI draft card)
Birth: 4 Oct 1874, Robeson County, NC
Married: Leola Tadlock, 31 Oct 1912, Fairmont, Robeson County, NC
WWI Draft: Sept 12 1918 (3rd Draft, Local Board #1, Robeson County, Lumberton, NC -- FHL Roll No. 1765935)
Description: Tall, Stout Build, Grey Eyes, Dark Hair
Family:
Thomas Rogers (b. 4 Oct 1874)
m. Loela Tadlock (b. 15 Jun 1884 / d. 2 Jan 1958), 31 Oct 1912 in Fairmont, Robeson County
son: Raeford Rogers (b. 19 Jul 1922 / d. 3 Apr 1999)
m. Ida Jane Hunt (b. 19 May 1922 / d. 6 May 2010)
children: Carol, Ray Jr., Betty Lois, Doris & Joyce (twins), Sarah Lee, Gene Ronald, Joel Mark

Gene Ronald Rogers is my father, I'm Johnny Lynn Rogers. My father mentioned that he remembered his father having step-siblings that they visited frequently back home in Robeson when he was very small and that they were all very, very old back then but he doesn't remember any of their names. I found an old census record listing Thomas and Leola Rogers with two children: Melinda and Phironia (1910 Census) and the next census (1920) record with Thomas and Leola Rogers lists Raeford Rogers as their child, but no Melinda and Phironia. Since those records, all I have been able to find have been ambiguous at best with no mention of parentage that I can count as reliable because I can't be sure that the Thomas Rogers in the records is indeed my ancestor.

Any help would be sincerenly appreciated!

Thanks,
John
